Selling in Friend's Name
 

I'm selling in my friend name with no problems at all. Ready to form a LLC. Can I set up the LLC in my name? My address got suspended one year ago. I've been selling in his name for 6 months with his bank card. I do RA/OA but want to set up a LLC to have wholesale accounts.

You can set up an LLC but he will need to be a shareholder even if its just a 0% shareholder or director.

Once you have the LLC setup, you can go through the tax interview and update the information

i'm currently selling under my real and suspended name on my new 2 month old sole-prop stealth account. 20:1 of uploaded asins. Sold asins are about 1:2 - 1:4 the same as my suspended account. Everything else is the same.

About to drop $25,000 on new FBA inventory crossing my fingers.

Yes. They required ID / Bank statement. I gave both. Im currently a pro seller and collecting GST/HST. Total sales around $5000. Im going to say roughly 50% of the sold ASINs will be the same as my suspended account under the same name. 20:1 of uploaded asins on the actual account though (high priced to not sell).

Ive been trying to start selling ASAP to see if it would link. It will be terrible if they suspended me in a month which is about the time ill have $25,000 worth of inventory processed, packed and sent to FBA.

You should be able to - are you looking to transfer the accounts from your friend's name to your own LLC? Just asking for clarification

I would set up the account in my friend's name which he doesn't mind but I would add my name to the LLC for tax reasons since I would be paying the taxes. I would like to know if I'm on the LLC, if Amazon will find out.

As long as the information has not been previously used they have no way of linking you to another store

Can you elaborate on this? I was never a professional seller, but I got suspended when I didn't know how to respond to the case.

Do you mean that my name could be on the LLC and Amazon wouldn't find out? Also, my friend and I are in two different states, does that matter?

Correct so any of the information you use to register must be unique

If you re-use any information then there is a chance of linking you to that previous store

If my friend name is primary on the LLC, couldn't I just add my name later? Also, on a LLC with multiple names, wouldn't Amazon just send the tax info to the business instead of a individual name?

Depends, they'll still be able to get an individual's name if they want to.

I know that they are changing some policies again as we speak.

If you are new to amazon, I recommend reading the amazon ghost asap so you have the foundation solid

I did buy the Amazon ghost and I read it. I'm still wondering about a LLC though. I no longer live in the state were my address was suspended . For tax reason, if I register the LLC in my friend name and later add my name to it, if Amazon would find out even though I'm in a new state and have a new address.

If you want to reuse any information, you will increase the risk of being linked/suspended

The degree of that link has a bunch of variables. If you want the lowest risk of linkage, do not use any previously used info
