Category ungating
 

Have had some successes with ungating services listed on the net offering a money back guarantee if they don't get you ungated in whatever category you are looking to sell.

I am being told by one service that Amazon some times inquires of the vendor from which you purchased the items to check and see that, in fact, the receipt is legitimate.

This makes no sense to me for two reasons...

1. No vendor would offer private information about one of their clients to Amazon or anyone else.

2. If Amazon found that you had sent a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ receipt, the next move would be to close your account.


Anyone have any insight into the "ungating" mindset of Amazon.

Amazon is extremely invasive to it's sellers.

You can bet your diddy that they do indeed phone suppliers to verify your receipts are real. They have been known to do that more than a few times.

I un gate brands and categories all the time. And when Amazon calls the vendor, me, I answer the phone and give Vishnu whatever he asks for. And voila, un gated

Who is going to give you this information? Amazon? The vendor?

Why would they confirm this information?

What is the source of this font of knowledge?

When I say "vendor," I am talking about the distributor of your products, the company that sells you the stuff that you then sell on Amazon.

That isn't you.

I know they phone us...the owners of the Amazon accounts. I get that part.

But the company on the other end of your receipt is at issue. What "verifiable" information exists that they do this?

I suspect none.

Yes its true they often call to verify the invoices

Your best bet is reaching out to vendors that sell products you want to sell on amazon, and ask them if they have experience with approvals

Your comments are suspect because of the nature of your service.

Just saying they phone is empty and hollow, and frankly, because of the nature of the service you are selling, it behooves you to sell fear so that people will purchase your service.

When in reality, they can easily do it themselves.

Its pretty well known they call to verify invoices from time to time, more often than not these days. You got 2 other guys saying that in this thread above me. Search the aspkin forums you'll see others opinions, and form your own

No company is going to give Amazon that kind of information. It defies logic.

I thought the same thing as you sometime back. Why would Amazon phone suppliers?

I can assure you Beautiful is correct. Amazon can, and does verify with suppliers. One of my clients in Oregon sells garden supplies on Amazon and they contacted his supplier (twice) to check the orders and inventory.

This, along with the "ungating" approval crap is why I don't sell on Amazon. They are just far too invasive and don't care much about your privacy.

Amazon call suppliers to verity invoices and quantity. The most time it happens with big invoices and infringement products. I have a supplier told me how Amazon was verifying one of his item sold to his customers which quantity was not matching etc... Amazon don't bother with small invoices and it would up to their rep's experiences or mood to decide if you can sell or not.

i have ungated few products, provided with invoices and supplier info.
none of them amazon ever made phone call .
i don't know other people, just for me.
