Which VMWare for VA - Free and Fast

We have been using VMWare Workstation 12 in our office for Amazon. However, we want out VA to be able to utilise this also.

Which other versions, light and fast are recommended for VMWare?

In our office we use Workstation 12 + Ubuntu.

Is there a better, lighter, faster free version we could consider?

Virtual box + User permission access
