Do you need a residential IP to create an Amazon Seller account?

Hi Everyone:

I'm looking to create a stealth account but am wondering must the IP first upon creation with Amazon be a real residential aka Cable, cell phone carrier, Popular internet ISP in order for Amazon to think it's for a real person?

Or can it be from my own server that gets it's IP from a data center like Digital Ocean or OVH?

Those IP's come from data centers , I know they are fine in order to later access an amazon account but upon initial Creation do they get the account blocked, or prevented from start up?

Thanks.

You should be fine with the IP's from the data centres.

Have never sold on Amazon, so take this with a grain of salt.

Although you might not get blocked from selling on Amazon whilst using a DC IP, I would imagine that when a real human does a manual review on your account it will definitely count against you as you are obviously using a proxy. However, residential IPs are harder to identify and hence will not raise suspicion unless someone has abused Amazon with that IP.

Amazon put very little to almost no importance on your IP if you are managing your account to their satisfaction. If your account needs reviewing manually then you're in big trouble that no IP will save you from.

As an example, I have used TOR for approximately a decade to manage my stealth accounts and it hasn't caused a single issue.

To be fair you're in UK where I hear Amazon accounts there are easier. Everyone is mainly scamming and being bad actors on the US side.

I know we can manage one from a data center IP on vps but will there be any issue creating a fresh stealth on a vps IP address? Doesn't that look suspicious to Amazon?

I use a VPS for each new stealth account and never had any issues.

I’m using SSD windows from hostwinds for years and it’s perfect:

You can and its reccomended. My only thing is what if we forget or your assistants forget to turn on the VPN? I know there is a kill switch but its turning it on. Sometimes human error.

Is a VPS still a safe option in 2021 for Amz accounts? stealth or not..

Is amazon still fine with datacenter IPs?
