Newbie here - Question about opening a second account
 

Hey all,
This is my first post here.

As we all know, Amazon doesn't really like two accounts created on the same address (yes sure we can ask them for permission first but I don't want to do that).

So I created my account just recently and now my brother, who lives with me, is also considering opening his own seller account.

Here is how I would like to approach this situation, please feel free to make comments and suggestions on this.

I am suggesting my brother to open a LLC or a S-Corp and putting my friend's office address as the registered address of this company. Now when the company is formed, we can then open a business sellers account. Ofcourse this will be done after forming a new bank account and credit card under the company's name. This way Amazon wont find out that both of us live at the same address.
Do you guys see any fault with this approach?

Apart from EIN, bank statement and credit card information, what other kind of document Amazon may ask to set up a business seller account?

The whole purpose of doing this is to keep these two accounts as far away from each other as possible. So that if some some reason, Amazon suspends or shuts down one account, the other one is not impacted in any way.

I would love hear your thoughts and some encouragement on this.

You can create these accounts sure, but it's very important that you start with the amazon ghost.

Follow that guide very carefully and while you read it, ask more questions in the forum and we'll help you

What I have heard amazon can ask you for id and utylity bill.Anyone can confirm it?

Providing ID and Utility bills to amazon is a guarantee.

They asked me for ID + bank statement. Then they locked my account, asking for my residency proof to unlock it.

So they ask for ID even if you open your account as a business seller account, under you LLC or S-corp's name?

As far as the bank account is concerned:
My plan was to first open up a bank account under the business's name. And if they ask for bank account, I'll show the bank statement of my business?

Hey there,, so amazon will ask for proof of residency even if the account is set up as a business seller account? What if there are two or three partners who have registered their corporation and then created an Amazon account. In that case, do all partners have to provide proof of residency?

There is this guy I was talking to on Facebook who told me about aspkin.com. According to him, I can create a virtual address for my brother, and open an Amazon seller account that way. Can someone please shed some more light no this?

Let's say if I do create a virtual address and Amazon asks for proof of identity. What will I show them then?

As I mentioned above, you need to read the amazon ghost from the beginning and do it correctly.

Once you read it, you'll have much better understandings and you'll ask better questions.

Amazon is tough.
