adding deposit method
 

Been selling on Amazon.ca for 7 months. Recently started to sell on Amazon.com. If I add a deposit method on Amazon.com (Have not added a bank yet) will it trigger a review? Suspension? Request for documentation? Cant risk anything, especially with textbook season round the corner.

I wont be using the .ca bank already registered.

I will be using a separate, US bank. Completely different then the .ca bank.

anytime you update bank/card it will put the account through an automated review

if you have no account issues you'll see no notifications/nothing happen

if for example you previously messed up and linked your store to a suspended store a week ago, this is when that problem will come up

Understood. Some others are telling me it will automatically suspend me and I should have a POA ready.

And just to be clear, this is for adding a deposit method on Amazon.com. I've never had a deposit method on Amazon.com. I only have a deposit method on Amazon.ca currently for this account.

If I add a deposit method will wait until Sept / Oct until textbook season is over at the very least to not risk my account. Im extremely hesitant about this. I remember a month ago I changed my charged method and I was suspended for like 2 weeks and was hell getting reinstated.

just curious,if you dont give them a deposit method,what happens to the sales proceeds?
Did they stay in your AMZN USA account ?

Thought you always need a bank account on file once sales start coming in, no? They make requests to add bank account. If you don't, which I never risked "not doing"...I suspect the account could be suspended

Why would it be suspended?

.ca has bank on it.
.com has no bank on it.

Both have sales coming in.

you could ask on AMZN forum if AMZN will send a check,I know Paypal does ,for a fee.
I know with Paypal,some US sellers prefer not to have their paypal fund deposited in their bank account.or some do not have a bank account.

no one seems to have a definite answer if his account would be reviewed,so if he does not want to take a chance,then asking for a check would be an alternative.
AMZN used to have many indvidual selling paperback books for a penny and make money on shipping until AMZN bans 1 cent sale,some dont have bank account or they dont want the money deposited in their bank account.
I have never asked AMZN for a check,may be if he asks on AMZN forum,someone would tell him .
You would be surprised what some folks dont have,some dont have a phone,land or mobile,many dont have bank accounts or their bank account is in negative territory ,some dont have confirmed address as they just rent a room,some have been living in their vans and yearn for a homecook meals .
Some are homeless,they use the library or homeless shelter PC to go online.

From my experience if your account already has history and verified and it just needs an update , it shouldn't trigger anything. Mark attention to the word "shouldn't" .

Btw, how's amazon canada in terms of sale / conversion?

I Did recently talk to a rep in USA and I needed to update a CC as well as turning one of my acc to personal for the month and he said because my account was verified and I'm established, it shouldn't ask for anything.

OP said he has sales coming into his AMZN USA account already,so he has no problem listing and selling on AMZN USA despite not adding a deposit method.
I wonder if he can just add his CA bank account for his US amzn account,how do all the Chinese sellers selling on AMZN USA get paid?what bank account did they add as deposit method?

Thanks for the info everyone. I defintleiy don't want a check as tinsoilder stated.

Ill add my US bank to my .com in Q4 after textbook season and pray nothing will happen.

@Saijin .ca is small fish compared to .com. USA has 10x the population of Canada and much more lucrative. But Canada is my home market and ive been selling in a few niches for a while so its okay for me atm.
