Can u use Vanilla Card as Prime Trial Payment? Amazon Support Chat Screenshot Added
 

I was looking for an answer... Can i use Vanilla Gift Card as Payment profile to activate amazon student prime trial or not.

I have got mixed answer from my reading. Some people said its fine to use vanilla, Some said NO.

Today i talked to amazon support to ask that straight question.

They apparently said its fine to use Vanilla Cards as Payment method for trial activation.

Can anyone more experienced share whats the Cons if i use that? I will not use empty cards Vanilla will have 2-3 usd balance.

They used to work fine but I haven't not used them in years so that may have changed

I am using my own VCCs currently. Was just trying to see how about Vanilla these days. SUrprisingly the support said its fine. I will go ahead and try to activate a prime using vanilla myself. Lets see. I will update here for people having same questions.

Ahhhh now support rejected it.

Conclusion : Vanilla/regular prepaid visa gift cards are not an option for amazon anymore.

Did you register the address/zip/phone on the vanilla card before adding it?

Chat support is useless for these sort of questions, they are clueless. If you chat 10x you will get 10 different answers. The short of it was vanilla won't work. They are cracking down on prepaids.

vanilla used to work fine 5-6 weeks ago for me but now I get this "Oh no, your Prime benefits are on hold due to a billing issue". What VCC is working for you?

Same here and many others. No longer works
