What are the restrictions for new seller accounts?
 

I want to sell furniture on Amazon. If I set up a new account, what are the selling restrictions.....$5k per month? 19 listings only?

On ebay it takes 3 months of selling cheap crap for positive feedback before one can start selling good stuff. I purchased $500 dollars worth of $20 dollar items and resold them at a loss to get my limits lifted which took 3 months so I could start selling furniture.

same idea as ebay, start slow and gradually increase sales to avoid velocity reviews

I would say you can typically sell a bit faster on amazon, but you'll have a higher chance of being requested invoices depending on the items you're selling

Invoices? What invoices? I just sell furniture...

Certain brands or products are considered high risk on amazon

If you list or sell those types of products on a relatively new store, you may trigger amazon to request invoices to back up the products you're selling

Invoices/receipts from wholesale distributors etc

just make sure your ready if they ask for invoices etc for verifying authenticity of your items!
