.edu email prime student

Hello, I purchased a .edu email from ebay, the seller delivered; brand new and hosted on gmail.

But then when I tried signing up for prime student, I got an error message saying there was a problem with the email.

Does anyone experienced with prime student sign-up have an idea why it wasn't accepeted?
Note: the email is in the format ****1@mail.******.edu (has a number on the id).

I just tried and i could login nicely with my edu email. It must be an issue with yours. Contact the provider as tinsoldier mentioned.
