I think he is talking about Amazon's 'Trade In' program, which is essentially a z but Back concept. While it is a creative idea (that should not be possible - but I guess occasionally is), if people are saying how great it is, then that means it is saturated or really difficult to make any money. If it was still profitable smart people would not be talking about it.
Also, remember Amazon is not offering top dollar for these items. They need a healthy margin to have someone (possibly them) resale the items on their platform and make money.
I should know I pitched Amazon's executives on expanding their 'Trade In' concept about 10 years ago.
