Creating new account in the wifes name
 

My current long standing 10 year seller account recently got gated in Sony products which is nearly 25% of our sales. I am going to try and get them the docs they want but even though we are a legit business I am not holding my breath that I can make an appropriate purchase through an authorized distributor.

Plan B is to open a new account with my wifes info. Keep in mind my current account does not have my name its in the business. I just purchased a commercial building for my real estate business so I plan to start with the fresh account at that location. New address, New IP, new computer ect...

Question is - Even though this will be a "real" person. Should I wait until Q4 is over due to the extra security measures? Anything else I should be thinking about that I am not?

Lastly - Can I open the account in a business name if I choose to instead of her personal name?

That original account, if you're a legitimate business with all your licenses and docs, I doubt you'll have trouble. Sony is still a high risk brand, but you got nothing to lose right now.

Yes , you can open an account in a business name, but you'll still have to provide a personal name / contact name

so how is opening a new account with your wife name solve your Sony problems?

:pry:It might not. But I believe all other accounts are still able to sell Sony cameras. I have 2 competitors that I know and I have reached out to them - none of there accounts received this Sony email and they can sell these items without issues.

I even see just launched sellers in certain categories. So that makes me think a new account might not be gated right now

It's the category that's usually gated, not the accounts themselves.

Since you have a legitimate business, why not ask Sony for some documentation that you can show amazon?
