| solefoodbk | 11-14-2019 01:04 PM | Utility w/ rent payment success Just created a new account and got what I believe most say is impossible approved.
Few might find this helpful so I figured I’d share....
I work out of a co-working building similar to WeWork so I don’t have any utility under my business. Even worse, my bank auto corrected my address to say “apt” for my office instead of suite. This was a bad oversight that I thought screwed my chances.
What I did was provide my last invoice of rent payment, my full contractual agreement (even showed that they conducted a background check), I linked what I was selling to a different popular platform as proof I’m actually selling, provided very clear reasons why I could not provide the utility bill they were requesting.
Other side note, I noticed my approval happened once my $39.99 was fully processed by my bank. Not sure how they know this, or if it’s just a coincidence.
Also, I’m not selling high risk things though so it’s all relative.
All done in Q4 high risk season. ;) |

Even called in and they said it should be accepted, referenced from a supervisor. I know Amazon customer support doesn't mean that much though.
List of things sent:
1) Rent payment invoice
2) Rent agreement (16 pages) shows I had a background check
3) Unopened envelope with my name and address on it
4) Bank account history showing recent $39.99 charge along with payment to my Co-working building
And like I said I referenced my shop on another platform and I don't sell high risk things either. Unbranded |
| Beautiful | 11-15-2019 02:31 PM | Re: Utility w/ rent payment success Yeah 9 out of 10 shops will ask for utility currently
All the info you provided gave amazon enough proof you are legit, this is what I imagine most legit people are doing to get through the verification issues in Q4
Amazon wants the most believable registered sellers |
| DocumentRequest | 11-15-2019 11:29 PM | Re: Utility w/ rent payment success Apt instead of Suite isnt an automatic ban. If you provide what they want, and they like what they see, then you wont have any issues. |
| agent006140 | 11-17-2019 08:39 AM | Re: Utility w/ rent payment success I agree, suite versus apt means little,it is his contract and payment to his landlord,he is not the first or last to provide such documents.
Plenty of Wework tenants have AMZN accounts |

| solefoodbk | 11-17-2019 02:56 PM | Re: Utility w/ rent payment success Yeah I post a thread on amazon forum and regret doing it.
The comments I got were like little amazon trolls. Saying that a water bill for example is more vetted, runs background/credit checks etc than RENT. I mean, what world do we live in where getting a apartment or office space is easier than water. Water is something you get after you complete verification with a landlord, that’s why I don’t understand why rent payments aren’t “acceptable” in the email they send.
The only credit checks to my knowledge are possibly phone bills and internet, but I don’t even think they do that. Only hard credit check I’ve gotten was for verizon mobile contract, which isn’t acceptable. |

It is very sad to hear that amazon could not help you. And how did your situation end up? Were you able to make your account recognized as real? Or did Amazon not do anything as a result? Of course, I haven't had such problems with Amazon yet, because I don't do such work, but it would be very cool to hear how you were able to solve your problem. My brother and I are planning to make a business selling things online and we are even planning to find an office space for rent. Of course, we have not yet been able to decide exactly what we will sell and how our site will look like, but the main thing is that we have motivation and desire. I would not like to get into exactly the same situation as you have. So I hope you will share how it all ended. | Thread is kind of old but OP is active so ...maybe a reply will come | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 01:13 PM. | |
