New GS1 Account Required for Ghost Account? (error 5665)

I currently have one main seller account (legitimate) that I have been selling on for the past year. I have a GS1 account which I use for all of my brand's products listed on this seller account.

If I want to list new private label brands/products on my secondary (ghost) account, could I still use the same GS1 account (same prefix) for this new account without being linked? Or would I need to buy a new GS1 account.

I tried using the ebay $5 UPCs, but I get Error 5665, which I believe a recent change in their rules. They now require either Brand Registry or GS1 UPCs for all new products.

I am not running stealth but I have had no issues creating new listings with new brand names using cheap UPCs purchased from resellers.

AFAIK Amazon just checks to make sure the UPC prefix is registered in the GS1 database. Alot of times a parent umbrella company will own multiple brands and the UPCs for each of the brands will have that same one parent company prefix. Therefore Amazon would have no way of checking other than making sure the prefix is registered in the database.

Do your $5 ebay purchased codes have their prefix registered in the GS1 database? They should, but there are some resellers who just generate random numbers that fit the check algorithm.
