Banned Seller Account and Amazon Associates Link?

So I had a seller account that was banned back in 2014. I recently started a website and I want to monetize it by joining the Amazon Associates affiliate program. Is this safe to do or do I need a stealth account? They're completely separate programs so I'm assuming I'd be fine. Does anyone have any experience with this?
