Trying to set up a new amazon seller acct and they are trying to charge me $39.99 a month? What?

You can register an individual account which has no monthly fees

But if you plan on selling more than 40 items a month, you may as well go pro due to the savings

The purpose of pro accounts doesnt work that way.You pay for pro because it may bennefit your busines model.Gives you access to things like fba and other options which dont come with basic accounts.But signing up for pro doesnt mean your magically going to get more people to buy from your store.You should go to amazon and look at the package differences.See how each can apply to what you want to do.

Thank you. I am not and do not want to be a volume seller on amazon. I sell less than 1000 items a year on amazon now. 5 years ago, 50-100K a month. Amazon does not do well for my nitch anymore. I have a teams of chinese that use FBA but mostly to keep others out, not so much as for $$$$

the fees are high,everytime I sell a USED DVD/VHS,I make 50 cents after shipping,not that I want to make money from selling dvds I dont want to keep,but I dont want to lose money either/
if you sell more,35.99 may be worth it
I see there are still sellers selling dvd/vhs for 1.99 plus 3.95 shipping,they are losing money,doubt they realise that.
I sold a book for 7.95,I get shipping of 6.99 but AMZN takes 5.03.
