Yes, go to settings -> login settings -> two step

Then you'll need to add authenticator app

I always keep a phone number because there are times they tried to call me for some random reason

You do need when you try to chnage it to app once done then no you don't

it depends, sometimes amazon asks you to add a mobile phone number

if you did, then you sometimes have to enter a code to access your account

you can remove this mobile number in the same settings -> login settings

if you do that and add an authenticator app, you won't need your # anymore

Yes, keep the device in airplane mode when using the app, just in case :spy:

No need to do that, the app has no links, its nothing to do with Amazon at the end of the day.

I've run the google authenticator for all my accounts off the same phone for many years covering several accounts.

Yeah but it takes 1 second to flip on airplane mode, doesn't hurt :)

What if something changed without us knowing in the background and they all of a sudden linked and nuked all your accounts?

I mean if you don't care about that, then proceed.

I like to protect my investments 110% since they are my life.

If you knew how an authenticator app works you'd know that it has no link to the subject account whatsoever.

It safer than using vmware or separate users on the same PC and we all know how safe that is. I mean, there is absolutely no chance of account sellers using a separate PC for each account is there. :rolleyes:
