Recovery Two Step Verification
 

Hi Everyone,

Have some problems with my account and the stupid Two Step Verification. I lost my phone and the Authenticator App on it.

I researched and the only way to reset the Two Step Verification is to "you'll need to verify your identity by providing a scan or photo of a government-issued identity document".

- Does anyone now what informations will be reviewed? Do they need to match with the Account infos? Did someone did the reset?

- Will it help if I would create another login user to access the account in the future to work on orders etc?

The Account is a business account and stealth btw.

You gotta provide the ID that was used when you registered the account

Maybe a different one may work but it would still have to match the name of the registered account

Ok thank you but I didn’t provide them any ID when I created the accounts. That’s what the problem is.

Correct, you have to send them an ID to reactivate the 2 step.

THey review all the info on the driver's license.

If you already verified your address, they'll mainly look at the name.

Hi everyone,
I am also facing same situation in account recovery and seek members help:
One of my account was logged out and I *am unable to request OTP on my magicjack number. The second*number had expired. I had used passport to register the account.The account name on amazon profile was changed to company name,
For account recovery I used the same passport (still valid) but failed.*Could you please let me know*
1. how to proceed further to reset 2 step verification; and
2. how to put the seller account on vacation to not get orders and further negatively impact the account health

It gets bumped to the top of the page so everyone can see it. :)

As an aside, I use google authenticator, I have it on my phone and my ipad. I back them both up. In the event I lose one, I have the other. In the unlikely event I lose both at the same time I can restore one of both.

And that's only a temporary issue until I get a replacement SIM card, then I have my phone number again for 2SV.

Folk need to accept that authentication is going to get more rigorous, plan in advance and keep your SIM and authenticator up to date, backed up, and cater for all eventualities.
