Bank statement failing verification I am in the UK and I recently applied to open an Amazon seller account.
I keep receiving an email after I submit my documents with the following:
Hello,
We were unable to verify the bank or credit card statement you provided. Please provide another bank or credit card statement with visible credentials, showing the following information:
-- Name
-- Billing address
-- Bank information
-- Issue date
The problem is all of this information is clearly visible on the bank statement that I am submitting. I tried submitting a support ticket via the contact is link in the same email and quickly received a response from a CS rep saying that my “Seller Identity Verification process is currently under review/in progress” and this is usually completed within 2-3 working days but I’ve already waited longer than that and seller central keeps asking me to submit the documents.
Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this as I am receiving an error for something which isn’t true. The document is valid and has the details they are asking for so I cannot see why they aren’t passing it.
Also after reading on this forum I am now concerned about this video call verification. Is this mandatory for all new accounts? |

2-3 working days is hardly the actual timeline done on AZ side - perhaps regular trying and hoping. Waiting for other people to post with experience on this |

Waiting for other people to post with experience on this | Yes my concern isn’t really how long it takes, it’s the fact that the document has been rejected and when I attempted to contact them they said in their response that my account verification is still in progress. Little bit of mixed messages from them but I think I might play it safe and leave it for a week or two and see if they actually review it and hopefully pass me or if nothing happens raise another ticket with the fact I will at that point have been waiting a few weeks with nothing happening as a reason. |

it may be visible but is it authentic?
These days they do check! |

If you are providing them a bank statement for a bank account you have not yet added, that's often times the reason they reject it. Most of the time they should still accept it, but some reps will reject it as you haven't yet added the bank account.
In which case try submitting a CC statement for the card that is required when you register, that's the easiest solution if you already registered and currently stuck |

These days they do check! | The statement is 100% legit and all details match the ones I provided at registration. |

To now provide a different statement for a card that has not been used on the account during registration may create an issue as it won’t match the info on my account especially the bank details for depositing the proceeds from sales. |

| Marton_UK | 07-06-2021 06:01 AM | Re: Bank statement failing verification When registering you select the bank from the dropdown menu. I think they do some 3rd party verification on the statements to check whether your account number is actually associated with the person.
Thats the only reason I see behind those failed bank statement verificaitions |
| e2free | 07-06-2021 07:50 AM | Re: Bank statement failing verification It's for Amazon not ebay, op something is wrong with your bank statement, AZ even accept letter from bank aswell |

Thats the only reason I see behind those failed bank statement verificaitions | If they detect something is off, they can run a check on your info/statement
But its rare, majority of time they are just visually inspecting what you submit |

Info was clearly visible, transactions present, issue date, statement date also. Info 100% matches amazon.
Still 3 statements declined in 5-10 minutes intervals after being submitted.
Would only think of some checking API connected to those banks to run numbers on the statement and try to match them. |

Talking about seller account, initial verification |

I am asked to enter my banking details when registering, and they declined my statement. Then tried credit card statement for the vcc I used to register with - declined in 4 minutes. Can a rep verify it that quick 4 minutes after being submitted? Since amzn is known for taking ages to respond, feels unlikely that there was a manual check in 4 minutes. Anyone else with same experiences recently also? |
| Beautiful | 07-15-2021 09:58 AM | Re: Bank statement failing verification If you're getting repeated denials on even different statements it means your shop was flagged likely on the first time you applied. Getting a denial once in a while is normal, but repeated denials with different statements is likely a lost cause |
Re: Bank statement failing verification Hi, i was facing the same issue. Firstly, i sent the e-statement i've got from the monthly email sent by the bank. Been trying 3 times with different banks, all rejected. Then i tried to print the e-statement first, and scan the bank statement, suddenly amazon approves within one day. I don't know if this is the real solution for you, but it works for me. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 12:45 AM. | |
