amazon authenticator

HI

I factory reset my Pixel and forgot to save my amazon authenticator stuff.
BUT, I did find my original Jpg saved(thanks google photos) from a year ago.
I added it back to my amazon authenticator via the QR code I had saved from a year ago.

It does generate a six digit code each time I try to log in, but Amaz keeps saying
There was a problem
The One Time Password (OTP) you entered is not valid. Please try again.

I'm using the correct QR code from a year ago, it even matches my email addy for amaz.

What could be the problem?

Thank in advance for any help

Re: amazon authenticator

Of course this is a stealth account, so I am not sure an ID exists.
Are you saying you know where I can get one or someone who validates as a service?

See Beautifuls answer, almost certain a sync issue and nothing to do with the QR code which is almost certainly still valid.

There is no service which can 'activate' your code.

You have your email address, password, account details I assume so you could always contact amazon, your situation will not be unique that's for sure, but there's a good chance you'll also need the phone number attached to the account to be active.

There's a few people having the same issue

Try combinations of changing your time on your authenticator app to automatic time vs setting the same exact time down to the minute that matches your PC time. Or connect the authenticator app to the internet, automatic sync time, and change your PC time to that same timezone before scanning again.

Try setting the exact matching minute, uninstalling the authenticator, and reinstalling, then scan the QR again

Try different authenticator extensions on the browser accessing the amazon account, scanning the code or with it. If you have an image of a QR code, google how to reveal the manual code from a QR image, then input the manual code into different authenticator apps. Keep messing with the time zone until you get it to work, its 100% a time sync issue if you never changed your OTP device or settings
