Amazon stealth ID verification work around
 

Are they now asking for ID as a basic step to set up an Amazon seller account? What is the work around? If you use an EIN then can ot br anyones ID?

Also do they always mail postcards and what are you using for a mailing address to get the card?

Is video verification required everytime now or jiat if account is flagged?

Things seem to have gotten much harder

No to video verification. Depending on the reason they flagged you

nowdays amazon is the best way to sell if the items are not risky and do not require many separate accounts

in this case you can open a few strong accounts and sell on them. stealth is only good on low volumes , on higher volumes you are likely to get tough verification later

Not in uk, if all things used good quality then u don’t get these request ie IP, phone no, vcc machine atc

Still not even postcards for UK ?I'd think they'd already rolled that there by now.

Nope, sometime you do get postcode option but most of time I don’t get it

only full USA shops are getting postal 100% of the time

To avoid this USA account can be Setup on uk Ltd or uk business etc

Does Amazon UK ask for video? Also can a non UK bank account be attached to UK account?

How is a UK bank added if non UK resident? Can a bank from.another country be added? Do they see the name on bank account?

Yes there is video verification in the UK, and my UK bank account is attached to my US seller account so I'm assuming works the other way around

Interesting - I haven't added a non-US bank account to a us seller account

Thank goodness I still have my genuine account. I didn't know they were doing "video verification" for new accounts. That's something I refuse to do. I'd never do anything requiring a scan of my face, nor Identification.

I agree its getting out of control. A lot of online platforms have started this. Just waiting for the implanted chip to be scanned!
There are work arounds, i believe.

Sadly, this is becoming the new normal. Most of bank accounts also require advanced video verification, some of them are even contacting their old customers and inviting them to complete the new KYC procedure if they want to keep their account open.

Planning to open a brand new account however do they always now ask for ID when creating the account in the USA? And how are they able to verify it?

I don’t use Amazon but I wrote a post a while ago about Amazon asking for video verification when I tried to open an Amazon account. Believe me when I say this but this will happen on eBay one day. Create as many accounts as you can while it’s not required.

Yes. Amazon wants your id and bank statement scans/photos to be uploaded during account registration, then the next step is most likely you'll be invited to pass a video call with the rep and if you have your documents ready then you can do it in next 10 min or you can schedule your video on a later time, they want to see your face, your id (dl or passport) and paper bank statement with address, also might be asked to bend your plastic id to see holograms or turn the pages of the passport to make sure it's not a piece of paper:)

Sometimes, if you're lucky they'll let you in without a video call verification, but you might be asked to do it later on during your first fund withdrawal.

In the last step, they will send a postcard with 6 digit code to verify your address which you registered on file with Amazon as your business address, usually takes 2-5 days to arrive, so you'll finalize your account registration once you enter that code from the postcard. Then just wait for an email with the outcome, very often they deny your documents, so just be patient and try again with the new email address.

At the moment Amazon can't verify your id! But make sure that barcodes on the back side are scannable and correspond to the info in the id itself, the same with the passport - the correct MRZ code is a must-have.
