Amazon OTP bug
 

Not getting OTP via text or phone call to my virtual number via amazon for logging in to seller account. Anyone else having similar problems? Im hoping its just a temporary issue on Amazons side.

Also, it was generally the phone calls in past that worked. When trying to click call (instead of text) I get a "Please wait at least one minute before requesting another OTP." despite waiting at least one minute.

that's an amaxzon bug. I'd try again tomorrow and stop trying now.

I've been there too using a switchboard forwarding service. I do not believe it was a bug but either a deliberate ploy by Amazon who can determine remote/virtual numbers or an issue with the forwarding service.

I could log in via my authenticator app but quickly decided to ditch the service and add bona fide mobile numbers. (happened on two accounts)

It's well documented on this forum that virtual numbers can be problematical, I wouldn't use one again, Amazon don't need much prompting to find a reason to suspend an account and start asking awkward questions.

Seems like Amazon glitch try again in 24 hours

The fix moving forward is use an authenticator app and make back up copies of the QR code that you have to scan when settings up the authentication app (in case you lose access to authenticator you can rescan code on new device)

Nope still aint working lol. The virtual number is not reliable to begin with, but tried many dozens of times over several days. Ill keep troubleshooting.

It's not a bug, get a proper number sorted. Do you have an authenticator app in place?

When you eventually get access then that's a priority if not.

In the past it worked fine, now it does not. I dont have an auth app. If i can log in i will get to prevent this in the future. I suspect ill have to "reverify" my account or however that goes.

Does anyone know what the process is if you want to reset the OTP? I know that they request ID but I can't remember uploading any kind of ID for Amazon US in the past. The business account is more than 5 years old.

I assume yes. I saw a video online where they showed it there. But it makes no sense if you have a business or never upload any ID.

Virtual numbers (especially free ones) sometimes won't receive certain types of texts / verification codes.

In certain instances they want you to pay extra for 'full service' to get them. Others just can't/won't receive them at all.

Personally just experienced this.
