| dom03 | 08-09-2022 08:43 AM | Your Amazon account is temporarily on hold (Buyer Account) I was hoping someone can tell me how to deal with the "Your Amazon account is temporarily on hold" after creating a brand new buying only Amazon account?
I have ensured fresh IP, fresh mac address, fresh windows user account, name, address, and obv fresh CC number.
As soon as I place my order for an item, within 2 mins I get this email that my accounts on hold "We noticed unusual payment activity on your account and need to verify ownership of the payment method used on your most recent order."
Asking me to upload billing statement, with my name and last 4-digits of my credit card.
Obviously this is NOT possible in Australia since no bank ever issued a billing statement with your credit card numbers on it...
In the past I have been creative with this and use a legit template to add the CC number, but this fails every time.
Any ideas? |

After placing an order it got placed on hold.
I feel like somehow they know this CC belongs to a different holder name or address than what the account is created under.... I thought they cannot verify this, or is this what the 'authorisation' on the card is all about when adding it?
I don't believe this is the sole reason, millions of people change their address daily or use friends/family cards to place orders without issue... it cannot be just due to card mismatch.
In any case, what's the way around this or through it? |

I noticed the "because doc nt vrfd ".
What's that mean? I provided the name, address, and card number on the statement matching the amazon account exactly... |

I actually called in last night for another account, on that actual account that was on hold immediately after it went on hold.
You could tell the guy on the phone was completely lazy and had not even the slightest intention to help me, obviously just pure laziness.
He was actually trying to convince me this is normal and my account will be fine to login and resume in the morning... then I pressed more and he said he would lodge a form to the account specialist team to review it, without actually asking about my info.
I said you haven't even asked my name, email or number how do you even know what account this is to lodge a form, and he insisted he automatically has all the info in front of him which is a complete lie given I called with the caller ID restricted...
Puts me on hold for 5 mins, comes back and says I have submitted a request someone will contact me within 24 hours?
Unless amazon can see your number even if caller ID is disabled? I thought only police departments can view this?
I found the amazon Australian support number on google, I don't know what the correct number is to call in - if anyone knows the Australian one let me know as I cannot contact support since when I log into the account the only option is to upload documentation, you cannot actually contact support as it signs you out... |

Any advice on what specific document, or if someone can provide me a sample that works would be appreciated. |

But at least you now know how good Amazon are at spotting bogus accounts and card/bank statements and how you'll need to adapt. |

I will continue experimenting and testing other ways, and will try a card with a genuine address match to see if as you mentioned in a different thread perhaps they indeed are somehow verifying a name or address match (in some cases).
I know for a fact though literally a few days ago I was successfully able to create 2x brand new accounts, using completely different name, address, mobile, to what the actual CC belongs to, and successfully placed and received orders without hitch.
So maybe it's random, or for flagged accounts they verify this, or perhaps they don't and I am missing something.
I am stumped. |

I just went back to an old account 6 months ago and it's also still fine, and I can purchase from it fine, even after adding a new CC to it...
Something I am doing is triggered a hold on new accounts when they are used to place an order within close proximity (days) of other accounts.
Unless it's just Amazon being overly cautious of brand new accounts being opened, and an order placed immediately, sending a red flag.
I'll try letting it sit and aging it before placing an order next time.
Sure others must experience this same problem as a buyer account when placing an order immediately after creating the account, when you may have previously opened accounts days before. |

So... somehow Amazon are linking me? despite being fully stealthed, must be the Revolut cards being all linked to same account owner given they are all generated from the same account even though brand new CC number? This has to be it. |

After restoring a few accounts my experience has been to takes several repeat spam attempts of uploading the same document over and over again until that one time they say yes instead of no.
What a bizarre stance from Amazon, this just reinforces the fact that it doesn't matter if you do things correctly, it just matters if you get someone who gives a **** and decides to feel good that day and restore your account, others 90% of these support reps are toxic cancer who don't care to do their job other than reading of a script.
I wonder how they wake up every day and and remember how to live life, anyone who works in customer service has to be either a child or have a very very low IQ.
If anyone has advice on how to initiate a refund/return for an item once your amazon buyer account is closed please let me know, other than submitting a chargeback. |

Any "marketplace" that requires sellers to carry insurance and gives them constant hassles is garbage. Tried years ago to sell and gave up, waste of time. Sellers do all the work, Amazon pockets the profits as usual. I would suggest giving them the boot and find an alternative platform. |

As for them 'taking all the profits' then that simply isn't true, my fees on Amazon are less than they are on ebay.
