Listing Walmart products on Amazon
 

I have just made my first amazon account. I do not have anything to sell yet, but I was thinking of listing Walmart products. If someone orders, I go to the store, buy and ship it. Will this work?

Registered a business as sole proprietor
Opened a bank account, gota credit card.
Opened an amazon with my details.
Passed verification.

Opened a Real account bot Stealth

If Amazon suspect you are engaging in retail arbitrage they will suspend you.

It's one of their pet hates and appeal success is rare.

Many get the ball rolling this way but in the long run it is not ideal as Amazon may one day request invoice/s and you will not have them, only receipts.

Plus if customers end up finding the same product for cheaper, this may result in expensive returns / bad feedback.

You mean using FBM then you go to walmart to buy and ship the product?

That's retail arbitrage and Amazon will soon or later find out and suspend you.

If you wanna experience it yourself and make it work, it's up to you of course

That would be classified as dropshipping, OP said they'd be shipping it themselves which is Retail Arbitrage.

Good option may be going to your local thrift stores, garage sales, etc... and sourcing some products.

It's still retail arbitrage, dropshipping isn't prohibited if done correctly.

The point their making is that Amazon hate folk buying 'on demand' from stores and shipping it themselves, but if you were stupid enough to get it shipped by the retailer to the customer you're compounding the problem and will face an almost certain ban if they complain.

OP also said he lives in Canada,but his flag said USA?
IF HE GOes to WMT and buy the goods,then repackaged it and shipped from Canada,how much can he make?buy retail and sell retail,AMZN fees would eat up his profit

Agreed, it may start off fine but eventually it gets ugly from what we've heard/seen.

This was fine before COVID, during COVID huge rise in sellers doing this and amazon cracked down HARD. They still are since people are being ripped off with automation companies.

He said he will go to WMT,buy the goods,come home and package it his way with his return address and ship it to you,nothing wrong with that,if he is willing to do the work.
Retail arbitrage definition is taking customer money and ask another Retailer to ship the item to your customer.
Both Ebay and AMZN do not like it,but there are some Ebay sellers who have their inventory in AMZN warehouse,so they are not arbitraging,they are asking AMZN to do the shipping for them,this is fine with ebay if the sellers can prove

How are sellers able to utilize Amazon for shipping their products to buyers, eBay, etc... etc... ?

I've heard of this but always wondered how its done.

yo have to ship your goods to AMZN and when someone orders from you,AMZN will do the packing and shipping for you,of course this is going to cost you.
Some distributor.manufacturer find it better ,instead of opening warehouse,now they can have their products ship to different AMZN warehouse around the world.
AMZN does not dispose your merchandise for you.if they become worthless or unsaleable.

Wrong.

It is still retail arbitrage if you hold no stock, make a sale on Amazon and then go down to the retail store and pay retail price for it. The clue is in the name - 'arbitrage', taking advantage of differing marketplace prices, 'retail', using retail stores to purchase at retail price. How it gets to the secondary owner is of no consequence.

If Amazon ask for a suppliers invoice you are stuffed because all you have is a retailers receipt.

There's also the question of if the goods are truly 'new', given the Amazon buyer is not the first owner and whether any warranty would be valid - again, some only apply to first owner and even require proof of purchase if you register online or make a claim.

Anyway, if Amazon discover/suspect you hold no stock and are buying goods from retail stores to fulfil sales you've already made then it matters not whether you ship it or the store does, you're getting suspended.

What if you listed products from Costco etc, they are technically a wholesaler.

Only ask as I’ve sold some products so wondering in case I have to send the Costco inv/receipts

Hmmm that doesn't sound like a bad idea.

I'd talk to Costco and see if you can get a business invoice / receipt instead of just those small receipts though.

If you have a business account with them and they issue you with a business invoice it might work, but Amazon, for whatever reason, aren't fans and certaily won't accept purchase receipts.

You also need to remember that they want to see that you had the stock in hand to ship before the sale was made, using Costco as a 'supply on demand' service definitely wont work.

Not difficult to do - just keep in mind the membership fee involved
