Name required when changing tax identity form to my LLC
 

I created an Amazon account with a family members information. An account with my information has already been suspended. The account has been up and running for several months now with out any issues. I am looking to create and add an LLC to remove their involvement.

"Name (as shown on your income tax return)" is required For all of the federal tax classification options when filling out the tax interview. I imagine that I would need to use the name registered to the LLC I would be adding. The dilemma is that The LLC would be in my name. If I input my own name into the tax interview is it likely that it will be connected to my suspended account just based off my first and last name alone? Is using a nick name in this field a good idea with taxes being involved? e.g, Patrick Smith to Pat Smith

Name alone should be enough to cause suspension if rest of info is different but following thread for other comments

When you add the LLC you can choose the name to add when you form the LLC

All information you use needs to be unique or you can get linked

Sorry, 'should' or ' shouldn't ' be enough to cause suspension if the rest of the information is different?

Just want to be sure as I'm in the exact same boat. If all info was changed and it was just the same name such as 'John Smith', there's a lot of John Smiths out there.

That's good, scared me lol.

Waiting for finalization of a corp and that would've been a big waste of time otherwise.

Its still early days but so far so good. Slowly changing things a bit at a time such as entity, address, phone #, etc...

Will give updates once things come along further.

What have you changed so far in what period of time?

I've only changed the things that would impact convenience of login & tax thus far:

- Entity (personal to corp).
- Business Address / Any sort of associated address.
- Phone #.

All that's really left is Charge Card & Bank Account as everything else was property setup ahead of time to limit the amount of changes needed.

When I convert from a family member name I used to my LLC, Are they gonna ask for any documents, and redo and verifications
