Updating charge card (payment method) on seller account
So i receive the routine Amazon email...."Your scheduled payment of XXX GBP has been cancelled because your payment method on file is invalid. Funds will not be transferred to you until you provide a valid charge method."
I use a standard UK debit card as before (it was the direct replacement for the old card). However, even after verifying the Amazon test charge when prompted through my bank,...the updated card failed verification.
Previously, you could get away with complete mismatch of details (name, address, phone number) with your debit card on Amazon.
I didn't want to give too much as my 'normal' address and name is linked to a deactivated account.
The only thing they wanted was a matching postal code. So, name, house number and phone number can still be stealth.
Hopefully that is enough to stop accounts being linked....for now.
