Transfer of Amazon Account

The company I work for is changing ownership and as part of the deal the Amazon Seller account is included.
Is it as simple as tranfering ownership via the "transfer account" secion in "Seller Account Information" ?
This isn't a stealth account so ID verification for existing owner and new owner shouldn't be a problem, I'm just wondering if this is the safest way to do it without loosing all the listing, sales history etc.

Doing it properly is the best and safest action so use the transfer account section.

As Amazon operate a catalogue system then there's effectively no 'sales history' other than relatively meaningless feedback. Product Reviews stay with the ASIN.

ASINs can be backed up to an Excel document so they're always safe for re-uploading.

Okay, there's an initial period of 'bedding in' (buy box eligibility for example) but after that a new account is effectively the same as the old one.

I only mention this as it might be worth considering a new account for the new company, I have in inherent mistrust of Amazon to transfer accounts effectively.

But the transfer account option is there if you want to use it.

Yes it’s the safest option but it’s really down to amazon if the re activate your account or not normally it goes through without issue if all in order
