| chris100 | 04-17-2023 08:25 PM | Action Required] Information needed for your Selling on Amazon payment account Just received this Amazon UK reverification request. Seems my ID has expired? I didn't know they checked?
Can I create an entirely new driving licence or will it have to relate to the old one (same ID number?)
Are they likely to do a video verification after the upload? Photo is me but it would still mean creating a physical document.
I only changed my bank account (for deposits) a few days ago. Hope this reverification isn't related?
I am pasting full email below.... Hello,
We are contacting you as we need some additional documentation to continue with your account verification.
What happens if I do not send the required documents?
You have a total of 60 days from the day we first contacted you to provide all documentation or information requested to complete the verification. The time that Amazon takes in reviewing and validating the information or documentation provided will not be counted against the 60 days threshold you are given. Failure to provide this on time will lead to your disbursements being disallowed until verification has been completed.
If it has been more than 60 days since we first contacted you, your disbursements may have already been disallowed and will remain temporarily deactivated until the requested information or documentation has been provided and your account has been verified.
Identity verification documents:
Why is this happening?
The driving license you provided was expired.
The Self-Assessment Notice to complete a tax return was not dated within the last 12 months.
What type of document do I need to provide?
1. For the primary contact person, provide a copy of a government issued ID document such as the photo and information page of a valid passport, a national identity cardt, a driving license and ensure that the information in the document matches the information in your Seller Central account.
The document must meet the following criteria:
-- The document must be a copy of a government issued ID document with a photo, such as a passport, national identity card, or residence permit.
-- The document must be in date.
-- The document must contain full name, date of birth, place of birth, and country of citizenship.
-- The document must contain an ID number and the expiration date.
-- The document must be signed.
2. Business verification documents:
-- One of the following documents issued by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) within the last year:
- Class 2 National Insurance Contributions (NICs) Bill
- Online VAT Certificate
- Self-Assessment notice to complete a tax return
- Letter confirming your Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) number
- Self Assessment Statement
- Short Tax Return.
We can also accept the following documents issued by HMRC:
- Certificate of Registration for Value Added Tax (VAT)
- "Welcome to Self-Assessment" letter confirming your UTR number
- Letter confirming your VAT number, following a VAT1 application.
If you are unable to provide any of these documents, you can request a Confirmation of Unique Taxpayer Reference letter by calling HMRC and asking for the "Self-Assessment Department". The letter may take two weeks to arrive by mail.
The document must be in one of our supported languages. The supported languages are English, Chinese, Dutch, German, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, French, Turkish, Polish, Portuguese, Arabic, Hindi, Tamil, Vietnamese, Thai, and Japanese. If the original document is not in a supported language, provide a copy of both the original document and a certified translation.
Ensure that the document meets the following criteria:
-- The document must show the individual’s name and residential address, as well as the provider’s logo.
-- The document must be dated within 12 months.
-- For a council tax bill only, the document must be valid for the current tax year.
-- The document must not be a screenshot.
How do I submit the required documents?
To continue with your account verification, complete the following steps to provide the requested document:
1. Go to the "Identity information" section of Seller Central:
2. Follow the prompts to upload the required document.
3. Click Save and "Submit for verification".
Once we have received the required documents, we will continue with your verification. |
Re: Action Required] Information needed for your Selling on Amazon payment account I guess they'll be looking for some kind of ID continuity if its the same type you intend to supply.
IMO if you supply acceptable ID and the HMRC related doc(s), then you will not get asked for video verification.
I guess you'll find out sooner or later..... |

I think the ID number is made up of personal details like family name and d.o.b.....maybe some check digits on the end? I should therefore be able to recreate.
Other option for UK is passport but I think that would be harder to edit. Is there any other UK photo ID that is acceptable? |
| e2free | 04-18-2023 06:50 PM | Re: Action Required] Information needed for your Selling on Amazon payment account Quite normal email from Amazon they normally only ask for proof of address but your id since expired they asking this and then hmrc letter
Normally on proof of address they not happy they ask for certified bank letter which is much more harder to pass
Provide them what they asking |

Once past verification I didn't think I'd need it again. |

A few years back it was easier to make new accounts and I never anticipated my current one lasting this long! |
