Am I misunderstand the dropshipping policy?

So I read the tiny paragraph that amazon has for their dropshipping policy and what I got out of it is do not dropship from places like walmart, target, etc that has obvious branding. If I buy from a marketplace where I have more control over invoice and brand inserts then I should be fine right? It's ok to dropship but make it obvious the item is from you/your brand.

So at this other marketplace if the vendors are willing to toss in a slip or invoice with your brand on it then that should pretty much the requirements right? What other things are not said in this policy that cause people to take a hit?

NO no and no.

Buy your inventory and either use FBM or FBA.

Re: Am I misunderstand the dropshipping policy?

buying from another retailer after receiving $$ from your AMZN customer is not dropshipping,it is retail arbitrage.
WMT can ban you as well

I wish people would stop abusing PRIME or other similar stuff... just ruins it for the consumers. What if they stop doing PRIME all together because of this bull****. eh

I don't buy from any major retailer in the country. I buy from a vendor in another country that has a storefront but is literally a supplier as I pay wholesale prices and they hold stock. As per the policy it says it's ok to have a supplier ship out for you but can't have any indication it's from the supplier. Also none of my stuff sells under price because of shipping times.

it is still drop shipping and the fact is it will have foreign origin shipping label on it and your account shipping address will be in the USA. You will get reported by a buyer,

Either hold stock or have the supplier send stock on your behalf to Amazon FBA

is your supplier based in China?
how much you pay your supplier is not going to make any difference .

Having your packages come from another country might be a bad idea (even with fast shipping). amz customers are like field mice and if they get scared cause their package came from outside the U.S amazon will hold you for it. As for the branded packaging you should be okay as long as there is no invoice or packing slip relating it back to another retailer.

Amazon is very good at detecting drop shippers ...you guys leave a big digital footprint.

So much moralising here from certain people on a forum that is all about making ⊗⊗⊗⊗ eBay, amazon, PayPal, Etsy accounts. As well as using *creative* ID. Not too mention selling counterfeit goods LOL

I don’t want this forum to be like the amazon forum

true but as long as you maintain good metrics and “follow” tos you should be fine

Re: Am I misunderstand the dropshipping policy?

You guys mentioned buyers will notice the packages coming from out of the country but I have all my listings setup to show shipping is from China and shows the estimated time that amazon chooses. So buyers see and agree to that when they purchase so amazon shouldn't see it as a problem as long trackings are valid?

so there should be no problem then.
But what is the difference in buying from you and buying direct from your supplier in China?

and thinking quality will be better...and ease of returns...among other things

Re: Am I misunderstand the dropshipping policy?

Difference with me at least is I honor returns directly to me and defect replacement even if I don't get compensated by the vendor. I just can't afford to hold stock but I run things like I do.

It is easy to return the item but sometimes AMZN will just issue credit towards future purchase NOT refund.
Sometimes you can find some good bargains, like the outside box is dented or scratched, who needs the outside box?
I bought a handheld vacuum duster and a K cup pod coffee maker at a much lower price from AMZN

Re: Am I misunderstand the dropshipping policy?

Dropshipping works well if done correctly, you're only mirroring what the hoards of Chinese sellers on Amazon are doing anyway.

Just make sure your supplier uses blank packaging and includes an invoice in your name.

Clearly you need to set up your account to ensure there is absolutely no confusion for the buyer.

I've even seen domestic based sellers who deliberately give themselves a chinese-like appearance to reaffirm their shipping policies.

e.g. in addition it getting their shipping, returns etc set up correctly the have an account name like "Hank (Asia) Company - fast delivery from China "

As for the posts above about using FBA and 'Prime Abuse' (WTF???), just ignore these dropshipping red herrings. :)

If too many returns...definite issues
