Having multiple accounts - the right way?

This relates to UK accounts.

Is it possible (and legal) to have more than one UTR number if setting up different companies?

Could one open a foreign company and trade on Amazon UK with unique ID and tax reference to distinguish from other accounts?

Re: Having multiple accounts - the right way?

In the UK, for example, each Limited Company gets it's own UTR not the director(s).

That said, Amazon do not ask for the UTR of a Limited Company. They also want ID and residential address details for the director(s). That could be a stumbling block if you've already been suspended using those details.

I have just realised your other thread about stealth and taxation issues has gone.

Do you know why it was deleted, it raised a very important issue for the future of stealth?

Presumably deleted. I sent you a PM. Not sure if they are getting through?

Thanks, yes the stumbling block is then ID. Do Amazon take anything other than passport and driving licence?

Perhaps foreign ID if a foreign company? Apply for National identity card when in Europe?

I am not fully au fait with foreign companies sorry. But even if you did get a EU based company, with EU ID, they're still going to ask for residential info. Pretty certain it will be the same for other regions too.

Interesting - would be enlightening to see for sure

Yes, it is possible (and legal) to have more than one UTR number if setting up different companies in the UK.

Yes, a foreign company can open an account on Amazon UK and trade on the platform. However, the foreign company will need to have a valid UTR number in order to do so. The UTR number will be used to identify the company for tax purposes.

it is important to note that Amazon has strict policies in place to prevent fraud and abuse. If Amazon suspects that a seller is using multiple accounts to circumvent these policies, they may take action to close the accounts.

I highly recommend that you consult with an accountant or lawyer (ecom and amazon specialized) to ensure that you are in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and your goals (multiple stealth's)

Stop spamming the board with absolute rubbish, what is wrong with you?

It's happening so much now without the mods putting a stop to it I can only assume it's pre-planned and approved.

Maybe start a partnership? They just provide ID. I guess address could be stealth if they are not yet sending postcards? The ID and tax info would need to be legit to avoid 'problems'.

Another thought.

Transfer legal entity of existing Amazon accounts to me (setting up as a business)

The ID remains the issue. Either transferring or setting up fresh. Do they need all directors ID? If just one ID maybe go in with a partner?
Every individual will have 2 sets of ID. Passport and driving licence (think that's all Amazon accept from UK). That would be 2 accounts per individual.

Making it even more completed with implication of multiple ids, etc

Are you saying this is a bad tactic? Established accounts are worth their weight in gold and avoid the big stumbling block of £15000 limit verification.

At present I wouldn't like to use them without having my contact details (or company details) on them. So they are pretty much dead anyway.

Re: Having multiple accounts - the right way?

If, as I think, you are trying to 'de-stealth' some accounts then given what I've read of their own forums it is going to be nigh on impossible to not only convert it to a Limited Company but change the account holder too which you would be required to do.

They'll scrutinise every change you make and expect address and ID verification to match.

You're in a no win situation. Leave them alone and it could get very ugly indeed as I believe you already know, change them and verification will surely kick in.

If the accounts are as good as dead then nothing to lose with reverification.

The question is (which you may have mentioned before) if you legitimise a tainted account are you just giving more info to anyone 'looking' at it. I suspect that isn't so important seeing as they already have the most important thing...the bank account.

It could be a waste of valuable ID. Going forward I would only use my real name (which luckily is common).
Amazon seemingly already pass info on. You need to be 'you' (or as close as) in case enquiries are made. The address and phone number you give are actually used (and not the bank account holder) in the first instance.

Re: Having multiple accounts - the right way?

And there's your conundrum, do nothing and walk away and its now worthless. Try and legitiise it and you could be wasting ID's on what is a very difficult ask given Amazons demands.

IMO you have a greater chance of creating a new account than transferring an existing one to a new owner, particularly if the ID you wish to offer up is already on the radar.

If I has a set of details which I thought could potentially pass Amazon scrutiny there's not a cat in hells chance I'd use them trying to 'de-stealth' an account.

Although it seems possible. Quoting alekov on the long thread "reverify your Amazon account"

Quote:

Looks like I just passed the Re-Verification! Can't believe it. Basically changed everything on the account, Business address, Business entity, created a brand new LLC only active for a week, brand new EIN number, and used myself as point of contact (previously suspended) with just a copy of my passport, but with new address. The curious thing is that I have a very unique name, and it also asked for date of birth and country of birth and all that which I'm not sure if I had submitted 10 years ago when my account got suspended.

I received the usual response saying Thanks for creating amazon account, we have completed verifying your identity and etc.

However, now it's asking for a Bank Verification when I got to account health. Strange since I just sent them a bank statement while doing the re-verification that was successful.

So I just submitted same bank statement that they accepted during the re-verification of identity and just waiting to see if they accept it now. The good thing is that the screen showed two options to choose from
1. Bank Statement matching my personal name
2. Bank Statement matching the new LLC

And also few check boxes to be checked saying it matches the account number and etc.
Maybe change entity to company with me as one of the directors? Just need to get my own details on account somewhere to negate any potential 'impersonation' accusation.
Other directors can be removed later via company house.
