Credit card updated then says invalid card Had to update the expiry date of the CC on AZ Canada.
Then it gave me "invalid CC" message.
Contacted the CC company and realized the Primary address (PO box of company) reverted back to our home addy.
Had that changed, but CC company said that the PO cannot be listed as # or unit. Has to be PO Box XXXXX.
Had the CC give me the updated primary verbatim. Wrote it down.
Updated the card and CC address as given by the CC company. The CC company said that he could see the authorizations from AZ for $0.00 and they were accepted.
But AZ keeps giving me "Invalid CC" and after ten times of trying various different ways, locked me out for 2 hours.
Does AZ not accept a PO box address for the CC. It's the same CC been using for over 3 years.
Worried that using our burned home address and personal name on the CC could link the closed acct from ten years ago.
Thanks

Re: Credit card updated then says invalid card Thinking it's the postal code causing an issue.
AZ is recognizing that it is a post office box, which has it's own postal code, different from the plaza postal code registered for the entire plaza. The post office box system is also a "drop" for AZ parcels.
Since the registered address is the post office box, I think changing the postal code only could cause an issue with AZ. Having the same address for both the post box and the CC, but different postal codes just might alert AZ.
The other option I may do is use the nonexistent address number between our 2 houses only for the CC verification, as we have a secondary address for mailing for the CC.
Thoughts, if you can follow?????

You can't use your burned home address obviously.
And YES, they accept po box billing addresses |

And all my accounts are PO boxes with actual CC's. It's this new one that should be straight forward.
I have changed the primary address with the CC company 3 times yesterday.
No matter what variation of the PO box I used (PO box/Unit/#) it still faltered on AZ verification.
This card has been used for over 6 years on this account. It's just the new reissued expiry date and bam, instant headache!

| yobar | 07-06-2023 07:11 AM | Re: Credit card updated then says invalid card First, it's important to note that Amazon Canada does accept PO box addresses for credit cards. However, the address must be entered exactly as it appears on the credit card statement. This means that the PO box number cannot be preceded by a number or unit, as you mentioned.
It sounds like you've already updated the address on your credit card statement to reflect this change. If you're still getting an "invalid CC" message when you try to make a purchase on Amazon Canada, there are a few other things you can check:
Make sure that you're entering the correct credit card number and expiration date.
Try entering the credit card information manually, rather than using the auto-fill feature.
Clear your browser's cache and cookies.
Try using a different device or browser.
If you've checked all of these things and you're still getting an "invalid CC" message, you can contact Amazon Canada customer support for help. They may be able to troubleshoot the issue on their end.
As for your concern about using your home address on your credit card, I understand your concern. However, if you've closed the account from ten years ago, it's unlikely that using your home address on your current credit card will link the two accounts. |

Have actually done exactly as you have said. Triple checked all info as entering, and triple checked with the CC company.
Everything matches verbatim. But still getting the "invalid" message.
Even changed the address on CC to the vacant number between us and next door so it is just a residential address. Waiting an hour and inputted info and it bounced again.
The only thing that is different is the phone number on file has changed, and inputted the new active phone number on address input section.
That shouldn't matter though.
Will be contacting AZ seller support to troubleshoot. That could be really fun!!!!
Thanks

That should work :nerd:

Re: Credit card updated then says invalid card As usual, Seller support was its usual useless self.
First call SS said it was the credit company declining transactions.
Checked with Walmart financial and no restriction or declines on card.
Back to SS, who said it would go up the chain for investigation for reason. One hour later, got email that said CC was declined and need to put correct info into their system.
No Sh!t Sherlock.

Re: Credit card updated then says invalid card Finally got it.
When you enter the new CC info, had to use the correct spelling of name on card.
When entering new address, the address has to be right (as usual) but the name had to match the name variation on the account.
Eg: George Smith on card (actual name) (not really mine if you wondered).
Acct registered with George Smyth on acct. This has to match AZ's records. George Smith doesn't work for the address to verify CC.
What a clusterf#ck of anal retention.

| Beautiful | 07-07-2023 02:08 PM | Re: Credit card updated then says invalid card full name and address match is pretty common these days to get them to accept your card
glad you got the issue resolved! |
| amzrocket | 07-09-2023 07:52 PM | Re: Credit card updated then says invalid card They do name matching on credit cards now? Since when? I've never had a credit card where the name needed to match.
Address does need to match though. Get electronic statements and then change the address on your credit card account to whatever you want.. |

But this was an update of CC as it was ready to expire.
Guessing the name thing is new for matching the CC if you update the CC.
Just wanted everyone to be ready just in case.
Thanks |

A while back they use Metabank and it's always been a problem with them so I avoid it at all cost.
Regardless you got a new CC from your bank now so that'll solve a lot.
Just stay away from debit cards btw. |

As far as debit cards, learned the hard way earlier this year.
And AZ gives you NO HINTS as to what the issue is with CC's.

PhD | Well, some times people missed the threads about debit cards in the forum even though it's been known for many years. |

I need to repay the amazon balance on an account and the payment method needs to be updated. Shouldn't this be fine if it's attached to a legitimate bank account that is under the entities name? It's easier to get a debit card from the bank for this account. |
Re: Credit card updated then says invalid card Only AZ can answer what's wrong with Debit cards. My guess, is that if you have a larger balance to pay, and not enough money in the account, AZ doesn't want to be left with your debt.
You can try a debit card, but have a backup plan. They seem to only want a CC now.
