comp buys from us & never leave pending
 

Anyone know how a competitor is buying one particular product of mine on amazon. The caveat is that it always stays in pending. He has done this about 10 different times and each time they are in pending than fall off about 2 weeks later. Any help would be appreciated.

2 weeks hold on the product? hmm could be due to payment processing - normally cc processing doesnt take that long - 2 weeks reminds of me e-cheques that fail...old times

Or he could be reselling your items on AMZN or a different site,hoping someone will buy soon.
Are these items in question rare,expensive and desirable?

no not expensive 9.95 , I do not think he is reselling them as he has done this at least 6 different times and the item never leaves pending. but he buys everything we have listed so that he gets the buy box. I have listed 100 at different times and he gets all of them in pending.

I know from personal experience that if you put a credit card that is on its limit in your buyers account you can make the purchase which will take it out of stock and remain out of stock as Amazon will send the buyer a message that the payment did not go through and make alternate payment arrangements.

Common tactic by competitors to lock up your stock. It's easily done as degsey said above.

It can be managed to an extent if you're FBM but if it's FBA stock you're fooked until it is returned to active inventory.

If you can link the buyer to a competitor seller you could report them I guess.

It does not take 2 weeks to clear a domestic echeck,but if AMZN is like Paypal,it could try a second time.
I doubt if it is echeck slow to clear,if NSF,the bank account could be slapped with NSF fee,$35-$50 per check

I could ask him but i doubt he will tell me since that is an admission of guilt. But i think the credit card that is on its limit is the best answer.

he should be able to report him whether he is a competitor just a pesky buyer,OP is losing opportunity to sell the item to a genuine buyer.
can you block buyer on AMZN like on EBAY and ETSY

Amazon doesnt have the blocking aspect.

As for reporting him...you can only hope for customer service to pay attention to the repeated antics

Very true, was looking for an angle to enforce the claim it was a deliberate and malicious act rather than just an idiot with an expired credit card.

There is no way to block buyers on Amazon.
