Banking issue, help needed

Hi,

I registered an Amazon account three months ago (stealth) and linked it to my HK bank. A few days ago, my bank refused a payment and informed me that the name and account number must match for transactions over HK$10,000.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue with an HK bank? (or any HongKong bank accept mismatch name transaction?)

Also, does anyone know if Singapore banks accept transactions with mismatched names?

Thanks in advance.

---------
To prevent Bank fraud .
what is the name of your bank
Some HK banks would refuse a deposit if names do not match exactly, like Wong Tin Teng vs Wong Ten Teng.
Try a US bank,it will accept anything

I contacted my bank manager and info was confirmed that any transaction above HK$10,000 will be rejected by all HK bank for mismatch name (HK local regulation).

Yes, you are right, HK$10,000 is the limited, lower than that, no problem. above it, rejected by all HK bank.

Either AMZN or Ebay has rejected a Payoneer statement and said it is not your statement, does anyone recall this incident?

I dont think AMZN offers a way to split your payments ,but can you use your AMZN fund to buy something so it becomes less than HK$10K
Or convert it into Jap Yen or US $ IF you bank offers foreign exchange account,I know some HK banks offer Yen,US $ ,EU and Canadian $ and Chinese $

Amazon only issue the bank local currecy to your account.
My HK bank accepts all major currecies, but Amazon only issue HK$ to my account at Amazon rate (1.8% lower compare the Bank rate), no wondering Amazon doing this. so there is no way to avoid it.

I'm just wondering if Payoneer works. I know WorldFirst definitely doesn't work for Amazon.

Using the AZMN funds to buy something, lowering the payout amount sounds like a good solution for now

she cant access the fund to buy,it has to go to her bank account.
With Paypal,it can stay in your Paypal account to spend or transfer to a bank or ask for a check or convert to a different currency

It does not matter which HK bank, she said it is HK law ,it applies to all banks.
Not many here know Singapore banking, you would have to ask on AMZN or Ebay forum,Singapore is a no nonsense state, you could have the same problem.
May be trying calling AMZN and see if they can do something for you

Are you HK based? Can't you use a UK bank and transfer it across to HK?
