| doctorkelly | 03-21-2025 05:33 AM | Vmware or browser user So I haven't had an Amazon seller account in about 7 years. I had it setup with Vmware with Windows XP. I'll be running an account for my friends to sell the products that they manufacturer. They have had their account setup for a few months but haven't listed anything. They created a separate user login for me to run the account from my house.
Is it ok to use a new user account on Brave browser with a VPN?
I went on Vmware's website and it looks like you have to pay, I thought that there was a free version? Virtual Box is free though. Also, if I need to do Vmware, where can I find a free version of Windows XP to install? I know Amazon changes over time and just want to make sure that I'm doing everything right so that my old account isn't linked to my friends. Thanks |

Thanks | VMWare is now free for non-commercial use, its almost impossible to find how how to download it on their site though, use this direct download link: https://softwareupdate.vmware.com/cd.../windows/core/
I doubt any modern browser will work on Windows XP, you can download Windows 10 and 11 from Microsoft with the Media Creation Tool. |

If you do a VM, just use chrome and your VPN. Building up cookies on your account can be a good thing. |
| doctorkelly | 03-21-2025 07:57 AM | Re: Vmware or browser user I'm going to use virtual box with Windows 10. I see your link to IP Burger but I already paid for Surfshark. Is there an advantage to IPBurger? I'll make sure I'm only logging in to the same location and not use that location outside of Virtual box |

I wouldn't risk using any public VPN, in your case if you are just managing your friends account setup a private VPN to their home/office network so you're both logging in from the same network.
If you're just going to be using one account I wouldn't use a VM either, its trivial for Amazon to detect, buy a cheap laptop or mini/micro pc and use that instead. |

It's actually my neighbor, can I just use the VM to connect to their WIFI network? Will Amazon be able to see my mac address on my suspended account computer? Is that why I should use another just for running Amazon seller account?
If Amazon can easily detect a VM, the why are people using it for multiple accounts? |

Thanks | I always have a dedicated laptop for 1 amazon account, use 1 browser, 1 user ID and stick to residential ip from ipburger.
I NEVER ever cut corners with amazon.
They are a total ********* *** ****** **** ***** @%$^$*! |

| In theory you could connect a external wifi card to the VM, use that and block the virtual ethernet device. but it would be a pain to set up.
Amazon can't see MAC addresses. Quote:

| Just because Amazon can do something doesn't mean that they do, or that they act on the information.
Plus people have different levels of risk and most are clueless about fingerprinting. |

| doctorkelly | 03-25-2025 06:17 PM | Re: Vmware or browser user I have a laptop with a fresh install of Windows 10, however the internal Wifi can see their network but the signal is too weak. I do have an external wifi that picks up their wifi strong but I was using it occasionally on my main laptop with my suspended account only while traveling at hotels because I had issues with the internal wifi at certain hotels. Can I use the same external wifi card or do I need to buy another? Can Amazon see that I've been using that on my suspended laptop? |
| doctorkelly | 03-28-2025 09:42 AM | Re: Vmware or browser user I'm connecting to their Wifi but need a private VPN for when I'm traveling. But I still would have to connect to a hotspot at a hotel to login to their VPN. It could be a hotel that I logged into on my banned account. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:42 AM. | |
