Default How to sell an Amazon Listing?

I have a 6 y/o Amazon listing. 700 reviews, 4.4*.

12 month turnover £170k.
Net profit 62k.

I want to sell the listing, and provide supplier details etc etc for someone to take over. It's a generic product however the buyer would have to rebrand. Although the brand name has 0 search volume, other generic terms drive traffic.

I've had it on Flippa for 8 months with no serious interest.

Could anyone put an estimate valuation on something like this? And any ideas how to sell?

How does it work?
Will the listing still be under your account?

Since technically Amazon owns the listing I cannot transfer it.

But I thought the potential buyer could attach their brand registry to the listing and then proceed?

So you want to sell the ASIN that you built?

I don't think that's going to fly since anyone can hop on that asin if they so desire.

But since I have brand registry, they couldn't hop on it or they'd be a trademark infringement, right?

Oh, I thought it's generic.

Brand registry like the USPTO registration for USA? Or the UK equivalent of it?

I know some things have changed on amazon about this and I have seen people hopping on even a Brand registered Asin.

This is a tricky topic but rather interesting since it's a little out of the box.

On Amazon, registered trademarks give brand owners an arsenal of tools to help increase sales. In order to register a trademark, you must file a trademark application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

It's a UK listing. 6 years old and never had a seller jump on. The product carries our logo / brand name all of which are trademarked and there are no authorised sellers.

Clearly you cant sell an ASIN and it is extremely unlikely Amazon would allow it to be re-branded.

So you would have to sell the trademark.

I guess your problem is that any potential buyer would want to see the ASIN before making an offer for the trademark (which I assume is still active). If you know Amazon's procedures then it is pretty easy to then hijack it if an unscrupulous buyer approached you assuming then can find a supplier for themselves.

Assuming you'll struggle to sell your intellectual property rights for a meaningful amount of money how about this for a solution?

Offer the right to sell on your listing in return for a cut. If the buyer fails to pay your cut then you call in your Brand Registry with Amazon.

Obviously there's issues/logistics with this and any other solution which I'll leave you to ponder.

All that said, whilst it's clearly a profitable ASIN and an interesting opportunity I still think you'll struggle to find a buyer at a price which you would deem appropriate given there are understandable concerns from the other side too.

Are you interested in selling the account? Or keeping that and trying to just sell the listing?

I can see you selling sole seller rights to someone, and allowing them through your brand registry.
