Notice: Policy Warning

Quote:

Hello,

We have temporarily set aside your FBA inventory for some of your listings as a result of a counterfeit investigation by law enforcement authorities, who have serious concerns about their authenticity. As a result, your affected items are currently ineligible for removal.

This action has been taken due to a law enforcement authority request. At the moment, there is no action for you to take as the investigation is ongoing, no removal orders are not possible at this time.
Your listings will remain inactive until the end of the investigation. We will advise you when the investigation is complete.

Listing content infringing on the intellectual property of others is against our “Intellectual Property Policy”, available at https://sellercentral-europe.amazon....rnal/201361070. Violating this policy may result in loss of selling privileges or other legal consequences.

We reserve the right to destroy the inventory associated with this suspected violation, as well as to take any legal action.
I received this email today on an account that was suspended in 2022 due to an address error. At that time, the item was sold for the last time. The account also has no FBA inventory. The listing was still active in the account, but of course not purchasable. In the meantime, the item was sold by a Chinese seller. The affected ASIN is still available but currently has no sellers. It is a car sticker from a well-known anime brand. Could it be that the Chinese seller’s FBA inventory was seized by customs and the brand contacted Amazon to request the suspension of all sellers’ FBA inventory?

Yes, that's what it sounds like....

You have proof of purchase from an authorized reseller for yours?

was it on amazon germany?

Re: Notice: Policy Warning

Yes, it was the German marketplace. On the Dubai marketplace, the product is still being sold by a UK seller. I don’t have any proof of purchase. The product in this form is also not officially sold by the brand. I’m not even sure if they have a registered image trademark for it. I just find the phrase “investigation by law enforcement authorities” very strange, because there have been countless listings of this on the marketplace for years.

here the same product, the version with the skull

Re: Notice: Policy Warning

this is a general risk in germany , police complaint was filed (strafanzeige) and they seized inventory on amazon

are you based in germany or outside?

if you are not based in germany you have nothing to fear

but if you are I recommend you to clean house and remove any counterfeits , they usually conduct home searches a few months later so if your name is among sellers who were selling these items in the past you are at genuine risk of getting unwanted visitors at 6AM one day

no , I did not just hear but I know exactly this runs this way in germany , they do hundreds of thousands of home searches every year and criminal cases are opened automatically as soon as someone file a complaint

for example if you were to file a police complaint now against a german seller and you would know their personal details and could provide proof their items on ebay are counterfeit the probability of a home search within a year would be 100% , they would even send you a letter later informing that they conducted a home search and which measures were taken after that in court

Yet another reason to force stealth method route - if someone's operations are suspect...

In Germany, you can also get a house search and a criminal charge if you call a politician a "moron" on social media.

@murdered_by_ebay you are from germany too ?

Re: Notice: Policy Warning

I have a few relatives there , with politicians it is a different reason which they call "public interest" so if you write anything negative about any prominent politician and they file a police complaint the public interest will make you a prime target which will be dealt with the same way they would be dealing with "Gefahr in Verzug"

for example quickly getting your personal details and then Strafbefehl over a few thousand euros for sure while home search would be used to find any other violations which would get you more criminal charges and potentially serious ones depending on what they find , for example drug possession , weapons , extremist materials , counterfeits , tax evasion , stolen goods etc.

german democracy is a system of obedience in which it is the not the people who are the sovereign and it serves the people but the other way around. that is the reason why it is so repressive and yes orders of magnitude more repressive than USA

Re: Notice: Policy Warning

there is a lady who posted on this forum ,her tag said she is from SWITZERLAND but she was stamping German car logos on her blank t shirts she bought from China in Germany.
Police came and caught her redhanded, took a picture of her PC monitor showing her logo and the t shirts lying on her couch.
The next day she went to the police station, they have all the evidence on the desk-her t shirts,a shot of her PC screen.
She never come back and update what happens.
( I recall she said she was suspended by AMZN,then she had her own website)

There was that story quite some time back - many other stories exist that don't come out to the light as well.

wow, sounds like a hardened criminal. Sounds like authorities have nothing better to do than harass people. Why not chase real criminals?

It is safer and easier than chasing hard criminals.
