| m4tsss | 12-21-2025 01:07 AM | Question about live video verification Hi, for those who know the answer for sure: could you tell me which marketplaces (regions) require live video verification with agents? It's a bit of an odd question, but I'd like to know.
Where they definitely don't require it is:
Spain
UK
So I'm looking for marketplaces that do require a live interview with Amazon agents.
Thanks. |

| yobar | 12-23-2025 06:33 AM | Re: Question about live video verification From what I’ve seen recently, video verification isn’t tied to a specific marketplace only, but rather to the risk profile and documents of each registration (it can trigger on DE, IT, FR, NL, US, etc.). Some sellers get approved with document checks only, while others in the same region are asked to do a short live video call to confirm identity and address. So it’s better to assume it can happen on most major EU/US marketplaces and be prepared with clear documents and a matching address/ID. |

Hello, no, that’s not how it works. Let me give you an example:
If you are from France, with completely genuine documents, and you register in France, you will always be given the option to complete the registration via a video call with an agent.
If you are not from France and you register in France, exactly the same thing happens: you will be given the option to complete it with an agent.
Another real example:
If you are from Spain and you register on the Spanish marketplace with completely genuine documents, you will NEVER be given the option to complete the registration with an agent. In the same way, if you register on the Spanish marketplace using documents from another country or an IP address from another country, you will never have access to completing the registration with an agent. Everything is always done online (of course, you will not pass the registration, but this is just so you understand what I mean).
That’s why I was asking whether you know of any marketplaces where, if you register, you are required no matter what to complete the registration with an agent. |
Re: Question about live video verification Not sure if there is any platform for AZ where every account is required to complete registration with an agent... |

| Enid Nathaniei | 04-06-2026 09:25 PM | Re: Question about live video verification No Amazon site "must require video verification," but the combination of "US site + new cross-border account" is the most likely to be required. |
| Automasters | 04-06-2026 10:32 PM | Re: Question about live video verification Yes I believe it is based on a few factors, like account risk, registered location, etc. I have never had to complete one yet, but mine are established accounts... |

As with most AZ things, they start slow and then put it in place across all platforms. Give it another couple of years and it will be a standard part of registration.

However if you have a suspended account with funds in it you will need to Video Verify in order to get those funds |

They usually roll out these rules to USA and UK first. |
| agent006140 | 04-25-2026 09:16 PM | Re: Question about live video verification I just got off the phone with an AMZN rep -
I sell books on AMZN for many years, not a big seller, but I have not be able to sell one single book for many moons,so I logged into my account and found my account has been deactivated and they want to do a video verifcation,I do not have a camera attached to my pc(It came with one and I mothballed it).
So I called and talked to a rep and she said there is no other way,go find a different PC with camera!
So to answer your question,I am not new ,I buy assorted stuff from AMZN and I sell a few books here and then since 1990s!
It is part of their reactivation requirement!!!!!!! |

I cant believe AMZN expects us to ship a book for $3.95??
AMZN said we should mark up the asking price of a book to compensate for low shipping, then it will tell us we are asking too much for the book! |
| Nimble | 04-26-2026 04:08 PM | Re: Question about live video verification Couple years ago, I created a personal account which required video verification.
I recently registered as a LTD company and no verification was requested, it has been sitting for 2 months with no activity and recently got an email that I need to submit my ID to reactivate. Did that and back to normal.
Next day I got an email with subject: Amazon Seller: Complimentary Account Management Service, from one of their account managers.
This proves eBay and Amazon want as many new sellers and buyers as possible, their whole revenue system is built on a buyer buying and a seller selling, they don't care who it is, they care about the fees they collect.
This can be seen especially on eBay with the new "free to sell on eBay" marketing trying to attract new sellers.
Obviously they have to strengthen their security systems to protect their money, they want to stamp out any kind of fraudulent activity, and unfortunately, this is where even the genuine sellers trip up. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 12:07 PM. | |
