HST/GST Reporting Canada - Multiple Amazon Account
 

Hello,

Wondering how people are dealing with registering for GST/HST and operating multiple stealth accounts.

You are issued one GST/HST number by Amazon but obviously that can not be put onto multiple accounts without linking. We have just been using Amazon as a marketplace facilitator to collect and remit on our behalf but CRA is not a fan of this and if you are registered you are responsible to collect it and remit it even though Amazon does it for you if you do not input your #.

So wondering if anyone has found ways around this to collect on all their accounts?

Amazon does not issue GST/HST. CRA does.

CRA has always been a retarded, destructive agency like all government agencies. I know in the states Amazon steals from customers the relevant tax for relevant states as a marketplace facilitator so you dont have to collect and remit the tax yourself or get your hands dirty.

The CRA likes to make this process difficult for sellers and forces you to collect and remit regardless. If you dont put a GST/HST # on ur account amazon will still collect / remit for the CRA but the CRA will still be expecting you to collect and remit and does not give a **** about making its theft ring less beucratic nor entertain the idea of marketplace facilitator sale tax returns to make the process less complicated or burdensome.

Many ways to run multiple stores and do it correctly.
