buying brand

Does anyone have experience buying a brand that's already selling on Amazon? Long short story, a friend of mine has had enough of Amazon, closing his account and is selling his brand. It's in the same category I'm selling in, and we both buy stock from the same factories

So you wanna buy his brand and keep selling them?

Hmm.... if I were in your shoes, I'd first make sure he gives you all the documents you need with you as the owner and transfer the login from his amazon to you as well.

If he uses a laptop thats dedicated for the amazon account, perhaps you can ask him to give that to you as well.

So essentially you keep 2 machines for 2 accounts , use a Residential IP for his and keep them separate.

I'm not interested in buying the seller account or taking over the existing business. I'm only interested in buying the brand itself, including the brand name and associated rights.

OP wants to acquire the license of the brand of a friend/competitor so likely needs business contracts to be signed, etc - I've seen it happen via legal notarized documents, etc

Ok, then it's simple, most of it will be between you and him then you'll need tpo submit this brand as yours to amazon.

he'd probably need to take his brand down from amazon though.
