amazon account review then suspended

have an amazon account with over 1700 postive feedback over the years selling this and that.....past 3 months been listing dvds and pet supplies...during holidays sales naturally spiked big time, was put on 30 day review, 2-3 days prior to the completion of review, account got suspended for 90 days, claiming dvds i'm selling are copyrighted material! WTF! i have over 11,000 in there, anyone know anyway to appeal? i can give them distributor and supplier information , no problem...just reallly needing that money they have to pay for supplier since i'm on a net 30 term with supplier.

Looks like selling DVD's is a big reason for Amazon arbitrarily suspending people. You can probably appeal. Ensure your appeal is professional & factual. If you have few negatives or claims, point that out. How's your return rate?

Amazon is not like eBay with Vero. For example, they will follow distribution restrictions whether they are law or not. When Microsoft emailed Amazon and asked them to restrict the Windows XP Professional listing, Amazon did so, even so they are under no obligation to comply. They are big-time kiss-a$$ with other corporations.

over 2000 transactions over the years and only 2 refunds and no A-Z filed.
i have emailed them with an appeal...but i just don't have a good feeling about this, i see a lot of new sellers selling dvds, i just don't understand why i got suspended, i'm established and have sold many many of these without issues..
if anyone can help, let me know.

Maybe a competitor made a bogus complaint and claimed you were selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗? If that's what happened, you'll probably need to wait out the 90 days, but it could start all over again when you get back on. Perhaps you should raise your prices a little to avoid unwanted attention from other sellers.

what's the chances of selling again? they stated i can not make another account and their decision is permanent.

Thought it was a 90 days suspension?

In other posts you have said you have made amazon accounts previously. You can attempt to try again & go stealth. Whether that will work I can not say. At the moment with Amazon I tend to think not. :tears:

nobody999 12-29-2009 06:29 PM

yes, i have made amazon accounts previously (stealth) the one that i have accumulated 1000+ postive feedbacks is not stealth though .
it just seems like stealth accounts go down in less then a month with any kind of volume selling...
i wonder if amazon has some kind of business selling account.

I think I have read on the seller forums on Amazon that you can still email (jeff@amazon.com) and provide them with your proof/distributor info, etc, make your case. Look on the seller forums over there, there are many people who have gone through the same thing and got the permanent ban reversed, but only if you really are in the right.

Don't give them any info! Do not tell them anything about where you get your merchandise or other selling venues. They ask for this so that they can try and get your supplier for themselves! This is how they knock out the competition.
