anyone used mytempnumber to make amazon account?

has anyone successfully used mytempnumber to make a seller account on amazon?

nobody999 01-31-2010 06:59 PM

this is the first time i have used mytempnumber and my amazon account got suspended immediately.
they said:
your account has been blocked. We have taken this action because your seller account has failed our seller account review process. While we appreciate your interest, we cannot reinstate your account.

anyone have this problem before?

shoot2kill 01-31-2010 09:41 PM

I dont think that was the cause... What are you using for a Credit Card? That could be the cause!

Burning 01-31-2010 09:59 PM

Yes, it seems that it is most likely your credit card. My amazon account was instantly suspended when I used entropay.

I use entropay, in fact I don't know where I would be without entropay, that fact that you just use 1 card to load money onto you account and you can create loads of "virtual" visa cards is just too good.

i have used a giftcard that has worked in the past without problems...the only thing i have changed was using mytempnumber, i never used that before, i usually use a prepaid phone....so that's why i think mytempnumber is no good for amazon.

just wanted to see if anyone has the same problem

Hmm...that is kind of weird, I used entropay and instantly suspended. Did you change the address on your account. I never did it to mine since it works on ebay/ paypal without me changing the address.

No i didn't change the address because like you said it works with no problem on ebay and paypal.

Burning 02-01-2010 06:04 PM

I tried another credit card and I successfully created a new account. I am soo happy!

Its not the number its the card! Gift cards aren't working for me anymore.

Very selected giftcards work. It is not like ebay, where you are allowed to change it when it does not work. Amazon, automatically suspends you when it can not verify your credit card. :nerd:

i've created stealth accounts successfully before , the only thing different this time is using mytempnumber, usually i just buy a prepaid phone.

has anyone used mytempnumber with success?

jbluntz 02-15-2010 12:57 AM

You only need one virgin mobile prepaid phone, they let you change the number every 24hrs.

is there a fee to change the number?

jbluntz 02-15-2010 09:56 PM

Not that I know of, I've changed it many times online without any mention a fee.

unfortuantemistake 02-16-2010 12:40 AM

I have been using the Simon Gift Account, has worked perfectly everytime for Amazon.

As far as phone number, I have a cricket phone which runs 40 a month, for each new account I either get a new phone, or pay $15.00 for a new phone number.

First Edition 02-16-2010 01:31 AM

phone.com works great, but phone number changes are not very possible. You have to cancel and reactivate.

Amazombie 02-17-2010 01:02 AM

I just used Simon gift acct. VCC to recently open an acct. yesterday and it worked fine.

Vumber has been great so far.

First Edition 02-17-2010 09:53 AM

Do you think that amazon ever catches on that you're using vnumber?

Amazombie 02-22-2010 01:03 PM

No not possible.

First Edition 02-22-2010 05:51 PM

I've heard that vnumber might eventually realize you're using these to verify eBay and/or Amazon accounts, but I haven't personally had this happen. And I agree, vnumber is awesome!

jbuntz, aren't you worried that Amazon may try to call you on that number? If you change it every 24 hours, I'm sure you're looking at an instant limitation the second they can't reach you.

peoples' number change all the time, if you get a limitation, then i think if you would update the number, it would be fine..
i don't expect amazon to call frequently like paypal/ebay does.

First Edition 02-23-2010 10:34 PM

oh yes, amazon will call.......

why would they?

First Edition 02-24-2010 07:23 AM

Why would they? When you sell a lot, they want to make sure you're not a crook, you have a business plan, it's usually just a courtesy call. I don't know what happens when I don't pick up. I always have about a grand go through in week, and then I get a phone call. Usually just a "hey what's up" courtesy call. But I'm sure it's to prevent fraud.

dennisjaneway 02-24-2010 09:48 AM

hey

no amazon dont call seller :)

they NEVER called me in 6 month? why should they? if something is wrong, they send u an e-mail. that all :)

yeah, i never received any calls either.

Amazombie 02-27-2010 01:52 AM

I usually never get an amazon call BUT......

I created a new acct. and after about three hours my phone rang & it was from amazon but I didn't answer. Then a few minutes later my account was blocked....WTF!!!

I think Amazon will only call within the first couple of hours of a new acct.

First Edition 03-05-2010 09:05 PM

They do call. Why wouldn't they?

Maybe if you're selling low risk items, like camera lens filters you won't have a problem.

I usually get a phone call, when I do the seller portion. Almost 90 percent of the time.

Not really, even if they did I woudn't answer, I only answer calls that I'm expecting or on my contact list. I doubt if they would suspend your account because you decided to change your number.

Virgin won't suspend your account, I mean don't you think Amazon will limit your account if they call a disconnected number?

ah yes, I have no idea what you're selling. However, aren't most things considered high risk nowadays?

It's usually a fairly casual call. They ask me if I have enough inventory, and I buy these from a supplier, sometimes they call on new accounts just to see how it's going. It's an odd call, I'm not going to lie. It's way different than the paypal phone calls.

I was refering to Amazon, people change their number all the time, besides I've never had an account long enough to worry about that anyway.
