Pro vs individual

Other than the obvious differences pointed out with fees, etc, are there advantages to using pro?

This will be a legit account with legit products. And my 1st. So will going pro get any leeway with Amazon when a problem arises? Can I assume they will work with seller? It is in their best interest to have sellers, no?

Again, all real info [this time anyway] and a product I own 100% rights to. So only problems I should run into will be somewhat normal. Bad customers, price/sales velocity, reviews, etc. I will be able to jump through any and all security hoops needed - So WHEN a problem arises, will pro help me work with Amazon in resolution a bit better?

Or, other then saving a buck a sale is it meaningless? And are there other pros to using pro?

Thanks

i don't find anything more beneficial with using pro, even if you have legit stuff..they treat you the same way as an individual.

thanx. What I assumed. Just a price break

You can create your own product pages. That can be a pretty big deal, dependent on a person's business model.

Also, for pro-merchant, Amazon does not charge $1 fixed listing fee when an item is sold. Because the monthly fee for pro-merchant is $39, it will be a good deal if you sell more than 39 items per month.

Pro does not help you stay selling on amazon! It is just smoke and mirrors to suck more money from you that is it. had accounts with pro even with reat feedback in the past did not save me. What actually shuts your accounts down are other no good sellers that is the problem. they try to get you booted. Pieces Of $Hit...

Do they allow changing/upgrading to pro from individual down the road? May have to create product page, but that would be a couple months or so down the road...

Thanx

not really, if you estimate your going to sell mor t hen 40 peices of item a month, then pro account is the better choice so you don't have to pay the $1 additional fee per sale.

So not really, as in I cant upgrade, or not really its worth it?

I wont sell more than 40 a month for a couple months so it wont save me any cash. But if I decide to create a listing later I was curious if I can upgrade

Thanks

EDIT: Reply above rolled in while I was typing :)

its .com - I think .ca is just books.

In any case thanks!

not really worth it if you sell less then 40 items per month. you can upgrade or downgrade whenever you want.

From personal experience I would not give those crooks any more than i have to. I will not sign up for a pro merchant account.

Pro sub also allows u to eidt existing Amazon listings & its easier to download/process orders if you have a lot of them.

pod 05-15-2010 11:20 AM

Thanks. Now that I'm setup I do see some advantages to pro for sure.

Mainly making your own products and editing listings. After a month or two I will upgrade for sure.
