received today WTF is this??

What is this. Does it mean i can transfer my held funds from before 14 days ago.And they will start holding my funds again?? Does not make sense. Never seen this before anyone else...

Hello from Amazon.com.

This message is to inform you that we have reactivated your Amazon.com seller
account, and you may now resume listing items for sale on our site.

In order to help ensure the successful completion of marketplace transactions,
funds from your sales will be held in temporary reserve in your Amazon Payments
Account for 14 days after an item has been sold. This holding period is intended
to cover potential buyer disputes via the A-to-z Guarantee program or credit
card chargebacks.

You will now be able to disburse funds from sales which occurred more than 14
days ago. This review period will be evaluated in 60 days, and you will be
notified via e-mail when this reserve has expired.

Please know this is not necessarily a negative reflection of your selling
history. This action is taken regularly on marketplace selling accounts across
the Amazon.com platform, particularly where sales volumes or inventory levels
are not supported by sufficient buyer feedback and account history.

Amazon Sellers are expected to maintain an order defect rate (the percentage of
orders that have received a negative feedback, an A-to-Z Guarantee claim or a
service credit card chargeback) of less than 1% of orders received. Excessive
levels of order cancellation, refunds or late shipments can also lead to account
restrictions.

For more information about account reserves, see:

Help > Selling at Amazon.com > Getting Paid > Marketplace Payments FAQ > What is
a Reserve Amount?

Thank you for selling on Amazon.com.

Regards,

Seller Performance Team

It's just the 14 day hold they do. Instead of a 21 day paypal hold. I would expect to get the 90 day suspension soon......

alwaystrying 05-16-2010 12:54 PM

So what does this mean. I will get my account suspended? Does not make sense can some one explain. thanks

First Edition 05-16-2010 02:54 PM

Well... it means they're looking at your account. Every time I've gotten this email, a few weeks later I get the "perm kicked" email saying my funds will be available in 90 days.

If you don't have any A to Z chargebacks, and you prove shipping, I think you'll be fine, unless they link you to a suspended account.

If you receive this after being under the 30 day review (and fund hold), I take it as a good sign, personally, as its a step in the right direction. You never know with Amazon, though, obviously.

I've only ever seen the 7 day hold, myself (and it was, surprisingly, released early). I wonder if the 14 day hold graduates to the 7 day hold after 60 days.

So many different types of account statuses on Amazon anymore.

It is for the most part standard procedure. They will hold your money for the first two weeks and if everything is a go, you can then start withdrawing every 24 hours or so. No big deal.

This is a new one I have never seen before.

It's a 14 day rolling reserve. Usually not a good sign. Typically, if a 30 day review comes up clean, they let you run unmolested. If you get this 14 day thing, it means they didn't bust you for something definite, but instead it means they still don't trust you. They already suspect you are up to no good and will give you enough rope to hang yourself. If you don't hang yourself, they will look for the first excuse they can find to hang you themselves. It's a semi-permanent yellow flag that screams "hit me".

If you keep your transactions immaculate in every way (no phaik, no late shipping, no customer complaints, etc), they will remove the 14 day thing but they will still watch your account more closely than you like.

Work on building your feedback, that's the only thing that's going to save you now.
