Item Category and Subcategory

On amazon shoes/sunglasses are subtitled under accessories...would i be able to sell those without getting approved for selling clothing?
has anyone sold shoes/sunglasses on amazon before? is it apart of the clothing category which means that you have to get approved to sell the shoes/sunglasses?
