Question about Amazon limit

I've read on here that Amazon has a limit of $700 in sales during the first month and if you go over that they will put you under 30 day review. I was wondering if that $700 limit is in disbursements or total sales through Amazon. Since Amazon takes around 15% in fees, that could make a difference of $100 per account, give or take a few bucks. So, if I have $695 in total sales, but after Amazon fees, only around $575 in disbusement money going to me, am I ok to sell another $125 before Amazon puts me in review, or should I be cautious? Thanks.

i think its 650 $, because after that amount normally my accounts come into review!

All new accounts will go into review at one time are another it could be the first, second or third month but it will get review.

I had accounts that only sold $200 or less went into review.

I think it also have to do with what you sale that put your account into review too

yeah when u sold Media, there is a 95 % chance to come under review when u sold 200-400 $

electronics or normaly stuff ......then there is the limit higher!

Now that's not true. I'm sure selling media stuff would being more scrutinized, but 95%??? Come on. I know this isn't true because I've sold a ton of vero crap on Amazon and very few of my accounts came under immediate review...and I sold $600 on each account the first month. Personally, I think it has to do with the amount sold and how quickly. Also, I've noticed that if you have a positive feedback before selling media stuff that you can get away with more. Having no feedback and selling a ton of it raises a lot of flags.

i never say thats for EVERYONE!

All my posts are in my case!

Normally its very hard to get feedback in the first 2-3 weeks! and of course then u sell for example 400 $ with no feedback! and the review comes!

When u can sell your stuff and somebody sends u a feedback, thats good for you, but i had never the case, that the customer sends any feedback so quickly, normally after 1-2 weeks after they received the package.

And its funny, after the 31th day, when the account is registered and no buyer send the feedback, they come under review! every time (only media of course!).

Sorry in my case, i can tell u its a rule for me :)

Maybe u found something out, to get feedback quicker ? And with feedback, of course the review will not come!

I wonder why amazon is keeping the sales velocity limit a secret now. I've read that in the past they freely shared the information. I emailed them and they gave a rather generic answer.

I don't think much of the info given here regarding amazon account reviews is correct.

For one thing an account coming under review might not be known to the seller. They might keep you out of the loop, and still be looking into your action.

It depends on many factors. I had been buying on amazon for two years before I sold anything. And I had applied and been approved for the amazon store credit card. So I was also ready on my way to being home free.

Then 7 weeks ago I pulled all my stock down from ebay and half.com and opened a seller's account at amazon. I listed 450 media items first month, and made $900 in sales. Another 350 items up over the last 2 weeks, and another $700 in sales in that next two weeks.

I have heard nothing about account reviews, and have banked over $1,400 in six weeks. I have 25 positive feedbacks, and life is looking much better than at the bay.

Of course I have all real factory pressed legit product, no vero at all. And all my banking, etc. info is real and matches up perfectly.

So it might be because I was an amazon customer for a couple of years, my history and credit card with them is flawless and perfect. Or it might be that I have all positive feedback, or because my product has never been questioned as not ligit. Whatever it is, I am flying high with 4 to 7 sales a day, and no reviews in the forcast.

I came across a 1300 piece stash of collectible CDs, many imports and out of print titles (not rock) that seem to have a good life on the used market internationally. I should do well for 2 to 3 years with this stuff. But I did nearly starve to death trying to sell on ebay and half. Ebay was costing me too much in fees just to list, half is deader than a doornail, no sales to speak of.

So anyway, I suggest one opens an account on amazon, and buy some books, just cheap things, and go slow, just like ebay. Do not dive into vero style cds and dvds right away.

If you are going to do dvds, find out what is going out of print, and pick up some of that stock in stores like Dollar Store and Big Lots. Start selling this kind of legit stock after you have been buying for a while, and slowly move into your normal product lines.

Be good, do not get into fights with your buyers over items not recieved, etc.

Get some feedbacks quickly even if you must have your brother and sister buy a couple items from back in Kansas to get things going.
