How does amazon bill you for the pro merchant account? They charge a card on file? bank withdrawl? Deduct it from balance?

The only advantage I have seen is that if you don't have the PRO account, then Amazon charges you an extra $1 per item sold. So, if you sell more than 40 items per month, or if you need to list in an automated fashion, then it makes sense.

But I totally agree with the above post, it does NOT make any difference as far as getting blocked goes. At least not that I have been able to tell.

No, it doesnt matter at all. They take that money and still treat you exactly the same. If anything, I believe being a pro merchant binds you to their refund policies/claims no matter what really.

So if you didn't make any sales, or balance is zero. Do they deduct the fee from your card on file, or can we use the method similar to what was suggested in the stealth guide for paying ebay fees?

While I don't endorse screwing them for fees (since they constantly make changes and it can come back to bite you), there are ways like anything...

If you have a balance they deduct from that first, if not they charge your credit card. Its automatic

I think webgoon was asking if you are still liable for 39.99 if you make no sales and get blocked.

Well, its like anything else. You signed up for the service so you owe. But I cant imagine how aggressive they would be to go after $40.

Actually my main concern is them charging the card. Between staying under the velocity limit and the disbursement cycles, I'm concerned that there'll be a period of time where my account doesn't have a balance in there and they bill me for the $40. If they do that, of course the card won't go through since it's ⊗⊗⊗⊗...

I see. Well. I had a card declined before. At that point you need to add another to pay. But when you say ⊗⊗⊗⊗, you mean a small limit VCC? Because card being declined wont be a panic. But if card comes back invalid, I'm not sure
