Possible explanation for why Amazon buyers don't leave feedback?!

Hi all,

This may be just an oddity on my account (especially seeing as it's blocked and linked to countless other blocked accounts!) but I've noticed the following on my recently bereaved Amazon account...!

1) Buyer places an order on say 1st August for an item, specifies standard delivery.

2) Expected ship date is about the 4th August, but I actually send the item on the 2nd, and it gets delivered to him on the 3rd.

3) Buyer is delighted with this fast service, sees my feedback reminder inside the box and decides that I deserve a glowing 5-star feedback comment.

4) Unfortunately when he goes to do this, he's told that this order 'is not eligible for feedback'.

I've been making a habit of emailing customers after they receive orders, to remind them about feedback. Most don't respond, but at least 5 customers over the last few weeks have emailed to say that they tried to leave feedback but got that message.

Eventually, a couple of weeks after their order date, it is starting to allow them, and I've been managing to finally get some feedback.

Can anyone confirm that this is the case on Amazon accounts?! (perhaps just in the UK?)

To summarise, my theory is that buyers are unable to leave feedback until the Amazon system 'thinks' that they should have received the item (which could be 7-10 working days on a 'standard' delivery selection).

I'd say the most likely time for a buyer to want to leave feedback is the evening after they receive the item, so if they can't do that, no wonder the feedback rates are so low!

Anyone else with some input on this, or has it just been a technical hitch on the Amazon site and I'm reading too far into it?!

Remember, it might just be a UK issue.

I don't know the answer to this, but it would explain a lot.

Who needs feedback? just sell your stuff and move on.

the guys who decide to put u in a 30 days review when your sales are over 750 $ :) they need the feedback!

And when thats true, no wonder that i have between 1-5 % buyer who give me feedback

I timed it one time when I sold and some items to another stealth account to get feedback. It did not let me leave it until 4 days after the sale. Some kind of waiting period to give the item time to arrive.

But if you can't get your feedback then you can't get it, you just gotta make more accounts and move on to those.
