Question about listing. (Amazon)

I have a question. If you add a new item to a catalog will customers be able to find it? I'm about to create new item in baby care/clothes.. if I do this will customers be able to find it even with the other brand names there?

If they are able to find it, could you create new list items and sale on amazon in any category?

They will be able to find it but more than likely it will be on a page that most customers dont look at.
