If that's what your company specializes in, then that's all you can sell. Stop lying to these people, you're making them worry. |

Here is what I know FOR SURE about Amazon and Velocity Limits...
$750 the first month. Usually a safe bet. If, by some off chance, you get a ton of positive feedbacks, you may be able to exceed that. But getting feedback on Amazon is difficult. On eBay, between 30% and 50% of my buyers leave feedback. On Amazon, it is more like 10% - 20%. And Amazon WANTS 20%.
In subsequent months, you can go over. The more positive feedback you have, the more you can go over. I've never been able to nail the amounts. Some suggest $150 for each positive feedback, but I cannot confirm that.
HOWEVER - if you sell in a high-risk category, such as DVD's, reviews can come at any time, no matter how much feedback you have.
Amazon has soft reviews (my terminology, I don't know what they call them) where a rep reviews your account and all activity is suspended for 10-20 minutes. You can undergo this without ever knowing it.
Then there is the 30 day review. All funds are held in your account until the review is over. Maybe it takes 28 days, maybe 32, but I have not known anyone to get the review done any faster. During this time, it is best to add tracking numbers on EVERYTHING you sell.
Some people use the term review and suspension interchangably, but there is a difference. During a review, you can still list and sell.
Amazon, to my knowledge, does not do suspensions the way that eBay does. If they do not like what you are doing, they simply block you. That means you are banned for life and they hold your money for 90 days from the day the account was blocked.
If you seem to be having a problem in a specific area, like shipping time, a rep will contact you via email and make suggestions as to how you can improve. They will tell you that you have "X" (whatever time period) to improve. That only happened to me once, and my money was not held as in a typical review. I WAS able to get the account back to where it should have been in the first place.
The 30 day reviews are triggered automatically. I have seen them go both ways. Sometimes you pass, other times you don't. One of the posters above said it was $200, but I have to believe that Amazon saw something they did not like, I have had many, MANY Amazon accounts and have never triggered a review after $200 in sales. | I thought I'd add to this
My 30 day review ended the end of December (about 6 weeks ago), though it was really a 24 day review for this new account. it is Mid February and I've done $1975 on the account in January without another review. My positive feedback rate is 25% sometimes up to %28 and once as low as 24% but no lower.
I had one customer file for a chargeback within seconds of me refunding him and it doesn't seem to have affected my account. It is not located in the chargeback section and hasn't show up in customer metrics as of yet
I do not sell Vero, (if I have it was only two items at the most) I am not sure when another review will come but in 6 weeks I doubled or more the amount and it didn't seem to affect anything. I do better each month

| mercurial333 | 02-21-2011 02:16 PM | ^ I am pretty much in the same situation. I had my review in december, and until now I was average about 800$ a month in sales. This month I'm 3500$, so I am under review again. I just got my first feedback, a few days ago :)
I have appealed the review and send them invoices and feedback from other places I sell.
This is the response I got yesterday: Quote:
Hello from Amazon.
Your account review has not yet been completed. We ask for your patience as buyers review their orders and leave feedback on your account.
At this time, we are unable to provide you with additional information or respond to further inquiries on this matter.
We will notify by e-mail when your account review is complete.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
Best regards,

This is the response I got yesterday: | Are they holding your funds? I am getting really close to another review then yet really need the money. So if needed, I'll pull back |

They are holding the funds, I only had 700$ when the review started on 15 Feb and another 700$ that I withdrew right before the review started. However that 700$ was intercepted before it made my Bank Account :).
Now I am at 5000$ because I sold stuff while I was under review. I hope review ends mid March.
*** I received my first two positive feedbacks on Amazon, since the review started. Both were from two chicks :). The other 8 sales that I made in Feb, no feedbacks yet, and I doubt I will get any.
I even wrote on A4 paper with huge letters " LEAVE POSITIVE FEEDBACK PLEASE ", I put the papers inside the package in 2 different places, so that they can see it when they open it up. I still have about 3 items waiting to be delivered, so maybe I will get some feedback from those.
I appealed the review and provided Invoices and what not, the message that I got from Amazon (automated or not), was that "we are waiting for feedback from your customers".
I hope it's not 45 days or 90 days, as I need the money badly. Right now, I don't think I can make more than 1500$ profit for March, since I don't have any funds. |

Heard they conduct a second review when you hit a certain amount but not sure what that is |

| mkr2204 | 03-10-2011 09:20 AM | Anyone got any idea on the UK Velocity limits? |
| mercurial333 | 03-15-2011 09:59 PM | Quote:
Hello from Amazon.
We are writing to let you know that we are conducting a review of your selling account. During the review, a rolling reserve will be applied to funds in your seller account.
The reserve will be equivalent to your gross sales amount for the preceding 14 days. Based on your order volume, the amount of the reserve may change daily.
You can view your account balance and reserve amount in the Payments section of your seller account. When your account balance exceeds the reserve amount, funds will be available per your disbursement schedule.
Account reviews are intended to ensure the timely shipment of orders and compliance with our selling policies. Please continue to fulfill orders and list only items that you are able to ship by or before the Expected Ship Date.
For information on how you may be able to expedite this review, search on “Velocity Limits and Account Reviews” in seller Help.
We will notify you by e-mail when our account review is complete.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

It looks like my review expired today, I think (it's been 30 days since it started). It not longer says "Account under Review" when I got to my Seller Account on Amazon, and I was able to request disimbursement finally. Only 4.3k out of 5.6k thou. They are holding 1.3k as reserve (?).
Anyway the email they sent me above is confusing, it looks to me as they are saying I am under review again, but as I said I was able to request disimbursement and it longer says the "Account under Review" line in red at the top of my seller account.
Did the review really end? Whats up with the reserve amount? How can I check my limits (if I can). (I was only selling about 600$ a month until last month then I sold over 4.5k in February and another 1k in March) |
| Axcend | 03-16-2011 05:18 PM | it sounds like since you are blasting through velocity limits, they are holding funds in case you decide to turn and run on your orders. I'm sure if you wrote down how much you made in sales in the past 2 weeks before that and compared it to the amount they are holding, you will find that there is a % correlation between the two. From what I gather you are clear sailing in the blue, because they would have banned your account if they had any problems with it.
I'm guessing you aren't selling VERO? |
| GStone | 03-16-2011 08:06 PM | would it make any difference on how much you could start out selling if you did one of the stores for like 40+ items a month? Or do they still limit you the same way? |

Any idea when I can request disimbursement for that 1.3k? or How long they will hold? |
| markstall96 | 06-06-2012 12:08 PM | I just started using amazon and this is my real account not a stealth account and i was put under a review yesterday. I have only had my account for less than a month. I sold about $800 worth of goods. Should i be concerned of being suspended? I have no claims or anything like that and only one feedback with 27 sales. |
| Zeppy | 06-09-2012 02:15 PM | I have been selling on Amazon for a long time and the 28 day velocity limit is NOT $750 from my experience ever. I used to stay under $1500 which I saw as a magic number. But if you have 10 feedbacks that all changes. I also noticed trouble after I made $2500 in 28 days and on established accounts I could go up to 4k a month with no issues. Just my 2 cents. |
| slapped | 06-10-2012 01:09 AM | Amazon Now more than EVER is about WHAT you are selling istead of How Much you are selling |

| exranger | 06-10-2012 09:51 PM | What's the scoop on selling books? I am being told it's low risk, which makes sense to me.
Anyone experienced with that? | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 01:05 PM. | |
