Fulfilled by Amazon- preorder

I have noticed some items on Amazon that are fulfilled by private sellers but the listing says 'this item has not yet been released, you can pre-order etc etc'

Some of the items I have seen have definitely been released already.

Does anyone know if there a feature within Amazon to state yourself that an item hasn't been released yet, and that they can preorder? If so would be useful because you would have time to disburse the funds, dropship etc.
