I have seen this as well. Sometimes it comes up and sometimes it does not. Either way, I have never had an account suspended because of it. Maybe Amazon sees something it initially does not like. Let the account sit for a day. If Amazon is going to block it because of whatever information they have, it should happen within 24 hours.

Here is my analysis of that message.

After you make it all the way through the sign up process and you get to that last screen before that message, all is good and quick inside the Amazon system.
As soon as you hit that last button the Amazon system has a LOT of information to crunch.
They updated their security algorithms recently as we all know.

So the web site is directing you to the Seller Central Main page but your seller account has not been created yet.
The web site is faster than the new security algorithms.

I monitor my email address as I am making an account.
When I get the error screen "Our records indicate that you are not authorized to access this feature."
I have not received the "Your Amazon.com Seller Account is Registered" email yet.

So there is a delay inside of the Amazon system of making new seller accounts.

Thanks, HWGA! That makes a lot of sense. I hadn't made any new Amazons in awhile, then I made 10 for testing purposes (and, of course, SELLING). I ran into this on 8 out of my 10 new accounts. The first time, I thought I must have screwed up. So I let the account sit for three hours. Then I listed a few books (just stuff around the house). The next day, it was still up and running and I started listing my normal stuff.

yes i have seen the same thing on my accounts too...think this is why some are working and some not? i dont always see the error message but now i wish i would have paid more attention if everytime its suspended within 1 hour or so
